There are different types of concerts. Yelling, screaming and going wild is perfectly acceptable at some, but not at others. If this is an intimate, mostly-acoustic show during which Ed lays his soul out there, then shouting and screaming is inappropriate. If you disagree, perhaps you are lacking what they call maturity, manners and class.
A few people are merely hoping they'll be immortalized on a potential bootleg, without realizing those of us who end up buying/downloading the bootleg will despise them for ever more.
correct.....i was thinking the same, with regards to being on a bootleg.
live and let live...unless it violates the pearligious doctrine.
I wonder why people have such bad manners at these shows?
Some people can't differentiate between big rock shows and these intimate shows. Like the dude above said.

So if I disagree with your snotty views, I am imature and lack class. Stick some grey poupon up your ass and get over yourself there buddy.
Wow, was expecting to hear something back from the jackass I quoted but you must be his twin freaking brother. "Laying his soul out there"?!?!?!? IT'S A FUCKING CONCERT!!! If you want to lay out rules, put them out there in signs before the show, lots of artists do. To sit there judge and get all bent out of shape about small stuff is dumb, ignorant, and self important. Also, why are you so concerned about people trying to get immortalized on a bootleg? That whole line just reaks of "stick in ass" syndrome, you should get that checked out ASAP.

Nice response. But in answer to your question... No. Just because you don't agree with me that doesn't make you immature and lacking in class. However, I sense you lack maturity and class because of the way you communicate.
I mean, seriously, read what you wrote again, dude. You come across like a Neanderthal. Not a smart Neanderthal either. One of the dumber ones.
Are you a screenwriter?

Oh sorry, not a mature classy screenwriter like yourself. This is just a simple message board and I don't see how my response was Neanderthal. Basically just called out your self absorbed arrogant opinion. Honestly, I would expect a more cleverly written response from a wannabe screen writer...you must be one of the "shitty ones"! :-)

You have 4 posts. All of which spew antagonism towards people you don't know. You also think that it's okay to yell and scream at any live musical performance (aka "concert") regardless of content and context. Would you scream during a performance of the LA Philharmonic orchestra? After all, that's still a concert.
If you want to empathize with the point the original poster was making, then check out the Royce Hall boot. It was another Ed solo performance and jack-asses are constantly yelling out stuff. It's okay to be enthusiastic and clap and cheer, but frequent chants of "Thumbing my way, Eddie!" can get pretty tiresome during an intimate show. Even Ed sounds exasperated.
Anyway, the angry manner in which you communicate seems to suggest your adrenal gland is too big. Hence, I called you a Neanderthal. Don't take it personally, as you obviously are not REALLY a Neanderthal... right?
Feel free to insult me further and ridicule my career but I get paid to write movies and I enjoy it. Simple as that. I'm sure you have a nice job too.
Peace.

My wife and I saw Ben Harper @ the Palace in Albany, NY and an idiot kept yelling "Burn one Down" After a few times Ben finally said that he appreciated his passion, but he was not deaf and heard him the first time. Then didn't play it. GReat Job BEN
"fuck vancouver"? jealous that he missed it? it might be the best show on eds little tour.

I really don't mean to get into your argument, and I won't go the limits of labeling you Neanderthal...but I just have to say that saying "Laying his soul out there?!?!?!?! IT'S A FUCKING CONCERT!!!" is quite disrespectful...It takes a lot of passion and guts to get on stage and perform, I think we've all been there at one point or another...there is a lot of pressure on the performer from the audience, and a douche that is yelling and screaming when it's really inappropriate can really take you out of your zone and break your concentration, BUT having said that...the disrespect began with the heckler.
Eddie is on stage performing because he feels that the people showing up will want to LISTEN while he plays his songs, which I'm sure he is damn proud of.
If that guy wanted to yell and scream amongst a large crowd, he should've went to a debate instead.

Vancouver I had some of those idiots too, there was a guy that wouldn't shut up and yell "I LOVE YOU EDDIE" everytime Ed would start to tell a story and there was this idiot right next to me yelling "SHUT UP AND SING" and "PLAY SOCIETY"... OMG!! it was so annoying :(
"Without the album covers, where do you clean your pot?" - EV
Sorry pal, your annoying loudmouths didn't really do anything wrong (if people didn't yell and scream at a concert, it wouldn't really be considered a concert). You actually come off as quite obnoxious when you refer to someone as a "newbie". You don't "get people" because your an elitest in this sense who thinks they have some delusional holier then though connection to a band.
This is kind of stupid. There are MANY types of concerts where it is not normal or appropriate to yell and scream.
from what I have learned by reading this board lately is that many people see "going to tell security" is being a narc and uncool, I guess that only applies to smoking though?
Cmon there is a differance, first off you have to have the stones to ask the guy to be quiet, confront him. Than get security.
As far as weed , ask them nicely to stop, if they dont its your call, if someoen is just taking a hit or 2 or 3, big fucking deal. Why would you rat anyone out. If this heckler was that bad, you should have said something, the way you make it sound security in any normal intimate setting would have ejected him, so its all speculation at this point.
If he was just singing and be a human, deal with it its a concert.
It all comes down to common sense, I find it hard to believe that anyone would tolerate what you are explaining, but I waasnt there.
beer and silence don't mix well with some at these shows.....
but whatever.... makes the shows unique to have a couple of dumbass yells during the shows
exactly
There is a certain degree, if the guy was yelling for the first 3 songs and noticibley intoxicate, tell him, than security. Security wiil likely watch him warn him and than see what happens, if he is so drunk he doesnt listen to security he is tossed.
That is normal, it doesnt involve narcing or any of the such.
I dont know if its all moms, or just younger generation fans that havent (lived) yet but this is all common sense and would apply in your local resturaunt, its pretty simple protocal.
WhY is it always so divided on these basic issues.
at benaroya there was the odd loud mouth, its almost like a contest to see who can start yelling and clapping after the song is done.some dont wait till ed;s finished. ed made the odd flub there too,but no comments like vancouver.
the dude was nervous! who wouldnt be?
"shes stoned said the swede, and the

So true! What I don't understand is why these people think yelling idiotic shit like that will make them enjoy the show more. Oh, wait, that's easy...Because they're bunch of IDIOTS!!!
If someoene is so drunk that they dont realize what they are doing they should be removed so they dont get hurt. I get drunk off my ass, but I control myself, the worst thing you are getting out of me is a hug when the shows over.
