  • Coming over from Australia and have just added Berlin to my travels, so now I'm chasing a 10C ticket for Berlin. I'm staying with a few other 10C'ers, so I'll be at the venue nice and early. Would be nice to know before getting there that I have a ticket though.

Only seeing them at festivals so far, so I'm desperately hoping for a ticket. PM if you can help

that makes us two, krusty_the_karl. need a spare for a friend. if any one knows anybody who has a spare (actually it doesn't have to be a 10c ticket)... a short pm would be greatly appreciated.

On the Roskilde anniversary, Pearl Jam will play a show in Berlin, presumably hoping efficient German crowd-control will prevent history from repeating itself.

:? Omg. No rain please

"Efficient german crowd-control" Wonder where they have been at the 10c entry last year :D

thanks for the chuckle. efficient german crowd control... remembered the experience again... that was not a pleasant experience in berlin 09. that crowd did not resemble the normal 10c crowd i am used to.

yes you are right... it was extremely tight up in front. Especially the first songs, there were many men trying to get in front and they all pushed like hell. I mean I saw many concerts in the past but this crowd was just horrible :D I also had bruises all over my feet and couldn't breathe at some points. There was a chubby woman right in front of me and she was totally freaking out.. I mean she was really really scared and the securities couldn't get her out of the crowd.

I understand that people like to go as close to the stage as they can get but ...yeah...I mean with Roskilde and all that in mind they should really think twice about behaving like assholes.

Oh but I don't want to cast shadows over this great concert experience :D Otherwise it was awesome and it's still a rock concert, so I can live with that ;)

Maybe thats just German people in general, but then again what % of fans were actually from Germany even. Lot's of rude Italians too.

I'm used to german crowds and saw many hard rock concerts here but this is NOT usual I think. It's probably because Pearl Jam has so many die-hard fans, nobody wants to be in the back :D (I understand this :) )
Maybe those were the people that didn't get a 10c ticket and were a little bit pissed that they couldn't get first row :D
But on the other hand, it all began on the 10c entry, so we can't blame all the other fans :D Maybe you're right and we people from Germany like to push our way to the front ;)

I also understand it when people who travel all over the world to see their favorite band don't like to have a shitty view and get a bit rude

I've seen Pj 6 times in Germany over the years and the first 3 or 4 songs last year were pretty rough were I was standing (about 6th or 7th row on Mike's side). Personally, I don't remember it to be much worse than some moments in any of the other shows. I don't want to say it wasn't bad. It was. But not much worse than I expect almost any GA show to be.
I don't remember being scared. Just IMMENSELY annoyed. But I'm a guy and can easily see how some of the girls that were standing in that general area might have been scared to death. But again. I've seen that before and have seen even worse at other band's shows.
Still that doesn't make it ANY better. I still don't know why they didn't divide the place up into sections as in 06. With that, even at rough moments, you don't necessarily have the feeling of 15000 people pushing and I firmly believe that this helps a lot with preventing people from panicking.

I was also on Mikes side, 5th row or something like that. I'm used to that pressure but the woman in front of me... I was really sad for her. I remember her expression and it was not a good one. And then there was this "gentleman" right before me, trying to protect his girlfriend by pushing against my stomach to the other side to make more room. I mean... wtf. :?
I want to enjoy the music and don't fight to keep on my feet  That's the time when I start jumping some rows back ;)
Well, hope we all learned from this experience and have a great time this year.

I'm so excited, 1 month and 3 weeks to go....

I really can't wait, but on the other hand, it's good that the concert is still some weeks ahead instead of that it's already finished :D

Yes, the same here. Berlin is unfortunately the only show I'm attending and the end will be very sad ;)
