what exactly is your definition of a good American?

One must love America in order to be a good American.
One must understand why America is free and what liberty means
One must want everybody who wants to be free to be free.
Liberty is what makes us human Children of God and Liberty can not be taken away or given by government of men
A good American wants to govern ones self and wants you to govern yourself

We have it very very good here in America and we Americans are good to our fellow human beings.
A good American want's it to stay that way.

You're free to try many flavors of Christianity. Find one that suits your hypocricy.

nothing wrong with loving America, but that doesn't necessarily make you a 'good American'. don't forget that patriotism has never been blind allegiance to people or policy. patriotism is loyalty to an ideal - to principle. if you feel that an injustice has been committed, or ideals or principles have been betrayed, you should speak out in defense of them. speak out to preserve what you feel is great and speak out because of what you love about your country.

Amen to that. I never got the "Patriot" argument post-9/11 - that if you questioned anything the government was doing, you weren't a "patriot." Wouldn't a patriot be someone who wants their government to be held accountable in the best interests of the nation?
And I listen for the voice inside my head... nothing. I'll do this one myself.

That's actually my favorite quote from anyone regarding the Muslim center being built in New York... I don't remember who said it (I think it was a comedian), and I don't remember the exact wording, but the gist of it is that he personally isn't comfortable with the idea of this place being built two blocks from Ground Zero, but to deny them the right to build it would be going against everything the country stands for.

So what does "natural born citizen" mean anyway?

I really don't think it is out of the realm of possibility Obama doesn't finish his first term. :)
