I was watching the dvd of it last week and I still think Ed is the only guy in the world that could get 40,000 people to sing along to a ukelele version of Sabbath's "Iron Man" :D
ok there is another guy can do that too

That was pretty funny, that guy was really getting into it!

    Here's Ed:

    (Jeff Tweedy, Sydney 2007)

“Put yer good money on the sunrise”
    (Tim Rogers)
  • That whole show was amazing, I love the fact that they weren't afriad to throw in some random stuff- when they played Crown Of Thorns I nearly died!

As I've gotten older, I've come to realise though that a good show is more than just what the band play, the sense of occasion is just as important. The small shows are amazing, and I count myself lucky to have seen two of them, but the big shows that have followed have been even better, it's like the band know that they have to deliver.
  • Getting so very excited about the Euro tour news!! Have always travelled mostly to see the guys because I'm in Ireland and it's been awhile since they were here. Any inklings whether or not the Dublin show is confirmed? The last 2 times in the Point Depot were amazing and it would be a great feeling of nostalagia to see them again there. 1996 feels like so long ago!!!!.(one of my 1st proper concerts at sweet 16!)...alas.....
wellcome to the madness and the Euro tour especially,i hope they do Dublin,i want to have drinks with my friends in a quality pub down there :D

Here here to that, a few pints and lot of good tunes.....you can't beat it!!!! And if it's not to be then it's time for another well placed holiday!!!!

  • HRC is usually on the last weekend of June, around the same time as Glasto, like this year. Hopefully, they'll also release the dates tomorrow.
  • xfm confirmed pearl jam on air for hard rock calling this morning, they seem to have jumped the gun a bit
  • yeah i know its the same weekend as glasto, i mean what day over the weekend will they play? i hope its not sat! because getting too london and back from glasto will be a really pain in the ass. if its sunday i can just pack up on sat night and go!
anybody else on here going too glastonbury and doing the same thing?

A week away from reading the forums and I come back to this excitement! I'm at Glastonbury the weekend of HRC so may have to miss that one :( Hopefully, however, they'll headline Glastonbury on the Saturday night (even if it's the Other Stage) and I won't feel so bad about missing it.

It is possible to leave Glastonbury on the Sunday and get to London for HRC, I did it last year with Bruce but it was a real wrench to leave Glastonbury when the time came. Bruce and PJ are the only two I'd consider doing it for, hopefully HRC won't be the start of a Euro tour as I'm on leave the week before Glasto and could take in a couple of shows somewhere.
The secret to a happy ending is knowing when to roll the credits
  • yeah i know what you mean about leaving a day early but i would do it. i would go mad being at glastonbury knowing pearl jam are playing hyde park.
lets just hope they do both, i mean how good does u2, the rolling stones and pearl jam sound!!

The norm would be to announce only the headliners and the days they are on which is what I'd guess will happen tomorrow. I just want to know when the mad scramble for tickets begins! I'm just far too excited today. At work and I've already listened to Reading and Leeds on the walkman :)
