Nh Grand Place Arenberg, just next to Grand Place. I used priceline.com though. Booking on the website is double that price.

Haha it wasn't my intention. I planned to rough it up for a month, staying in cheap hotels etc., but when I bid on a 3 star hotel they'd give me a 4 star..happened 3 times. I'd bid on a 2 star, but I hear a 2 star hotels in Europe are like a 0-1 stars in the US...plus reading reviews about bed bugs etc. scared me :o

Edit: plus it's my honeymoon...the gf may want a quick devorce if things aren' right

All you fancy hotel types will regret making this silly decision and not join us in the epic party that will be the C3 camp site.

Hinn: C3 - is there any space left for a little swiss tent by any chance? only need it for the B-I-G party after the PJ gig..

Looks like the air space is getting back to normal, mind you there was never a risk of the tour not happening, Dimi would have just landed the band at his air base!

I'm looking at my options for getting home from Brussels, it's one of the last bit of tour jigsaw pieces left for me...options are for either the day after Werchter or the 6th - Eurostar from Brussels to London then London to Truro on the train, fly from Brussels to London, train from London to Truro or Brussels to Manchester and fly Manc to Newquay...and the prices vary from £55 on the 6th to £102 on the 5th!

from a girl who is staying in fancy schmancy but fairly reasonable cost hotels....
    2009 - Manchester. 2010 - Dublin, Belfast, London, Berlin, Arras, Werchter. 2011 - PJ20 i & ii, Montreal, Toronto i & ii, Ottawa, Hamilton.
    2012 - Manchester i & ii, Berlin i & ii, Stockholm. 2014 - Amsterdam i & ii, Trieste, Vienna, Berlin, Leeds, Milton Keynes.
    2016 - Boston Fenway i & ii, 2018 - Amsterdam i & ii, Pinkpop, London i & ii, Padova, Krakow, Barcelona, Seattle i & ii.

Nice! Not sure how much time you have in Brussels, but if you want to sample some real Belgian cuisine, on the Grand Place itself, there is a lil' restaurant in a cellar called 't Kelderke. Have yourself a lapin a la geuze with a nice beer! Avoid restaurants in the couple of streets leading to the Grand Place - tourist traps.

Also, two lovely art nouveau cafes Bourse way (near Grand Place), Le Falstaff and Le Cirio. Or, for the Belgian 'estaminet', try La Becasse - an impressive choice of beers- a must really! Very close to Grand Place but easily missed (a sort of passage way in between two shops). Another very Brussels thing is L'estaminet du Theatre de Toone (or Toone). It's a puppet theatre but a place to drink too!

I love Brussels. So much good food and good beer (and many good friends for me, as well as family!)

Red thanks for the recommendations. I love marking down recommendations for eating in cities, especially from locals or those who knows the city well. I got them all down except for the last one. Just don't have enough time for a puppet show. Although, speaking of puppet shows I'm staing in Rothenburg ob der Tauber for a couple of nights in Germany and might see a puppet show there.

Thanks again - I almost feel like starting a thread for eating in Germany. We really should separate those in different price categories. Once in a while I like a nice dinner, but many times it's that $4 slice is pizza you never forget ;)

Forget about the puppet show - just go there for the beer! Though La Becasse has a greater choice.

Strangely enough, I don't know London that well (for going out/drinking). There are one or two places in central london that I sometimes go to but not very often. I tend to grace my locals with my presence. Got a couple with decent music. Google Eel Pie Island and you will have an idea of the kind of music around Twickenham (rock, blues, jazz)....

Michael and I will probably be at the Royal George on Saturday after I send off the Israelis. Not sure if and when Ed is going to Nijmegen, but since he's stuck with me, that means he'll have to come too. Otherwise, Darcy will probably try to get us all to have another Hyde Park picnic. Since the Saturday show will be on, we'll just have to go to another part of the park, and just listen in on whatever's playing on stage from outside the fences. Dave and Randall will probably have drank way too much and might be moaning the whole time, and it'll be funny.

The visiting Americans will be thinking, ehhhhhh you European freaks.
