Soooo... Now that someone here directed me to Green Plastic and the Radiohead fan forum there, I was just panicked to read a couple of comments speculating that the main reason Radiohead is in particular exquisite live form this tour and playing such a cross-section of their catalogue is they (the 2 fans) think it's really a farewell tour?? Have any of the rest of you heard anything like this or have any reason to think it's true?
I really pray they're not pulling and REM 2008 and having a phenomenal tour, only to then go and announce the end of the band!
Hopefully we're just lucky and they're having an amazing moment/tour/experience, but they will go on, or at worst just take a break. But now I can't get the possibility out of my head... Have you guys heard anything like this, or what do you think?

Taking my son for a surprise trip from Maine to Boston to catch the Sox day game and then Radiohead show on Sunday night. Really looking forward to this!
"How do afford your rock 'n roll lifestyle?"- Cake
That made me look up the show that, well it was a 2001 show that was the "Most Perfect Concert Ever" in that all the factors of a perfect show were in place, but this was probably the one I enjoyed the most as a Radiohead fan, setlist and all, and most of all because because of the incline at Merriweather and my seats (maybe 9th row), I was eye level with the band, dead center, and interacted with Thom a bit. At the very end of the show, Thom was going off and looked at me and did a little "Namaste" bow and I did the same right back to him, will never forget that!
And looking at the Setlist, I got Just and Paranoid Android and so much more in that show, it may have to replace my "Most Perfect Concert (of ANY Band) Ever" show!
Too many highlights to mention, but I’ll try a few because a lot will blur together after tonight (bear with me, some of these are obvious talking points, but I only saw them once before last night, and it was 17 years ago): Separator & The Numbers were phenomenal. Optimistic has a whole different feel live- last night’s performance put that song back on the map for me. Watching Johnny Greenwood play guitar is really entertaining... like REALLY entertaining. Ed O’Brien is an insanely talented backup singer. Thom Yorke’s voice was so on point - he’s as good in person, if not better than on record... definitely one of the greatest singers I’ve had the pleasure of hearing live. Colin Greenwood is the glue that holds this whole outfit together. The sound mix was phenomenal last night: w/ three guitars & two drum kits to contend with, the bass was still prevalent & distinct. Great job by the crew.
This band is clicking on all cylinders right now. I’m trying to savor this moment of being in between the two shows.

That is awesome. In July of 2003 my dad and I watched the Yankees beat the Red Sox in the Bronx (awesome for a Yankees fan), and then took the train back to Philly for a Pearl Jam show that night. Was a great day. It was a blowout but Mariano still pitched because he hadn't pitched in a few games. I've been lucky to see the Yankees in Seattle and Toronto when I was in town for Pearl Jam as well. Would have been cool to have gone to part of the World Series game and then went across the street for the Pearl Jam show in Philly back in 2009.
I'm super excited to see what the setlist will look like tonight, compared with last night. I think they're only doing about 4 or 5 staple songs, right? Like haven't they played Ful Stop and 2+2=5 at almost ever show so far? I feel like I read that on some fan discussion.
As a total non-performance aside, WTF with the merch?! I literally visited 4 different merch tables and every single one had at least 1-2 items that some of the others didn't. I've never experienced a band that set up merch like that, and it seemed intentional. Did anyone else notice that at your shows?
Heard “High and Dry” played on the organ between innings at Fenway! Pretty cool. Also saw the most amazing centerfield catch I’ve ever seen by JBJ. Chilling out before heading out for their show tonight. Cheers!

I had an experience with REM like you did at Oak Mtn. Ampitheater in Birmingham, AL.
I was 5th row and the incline made it level with the stage. Michael Stipe waved at me and gave me a thumbs up during Driver 8. strangely enough, the first time I saw Radiohead was when they were opening for REM in 1995 in Birmingham.

Same here. I’m about an hour and a half away. Can’t make either. Sad
one of my friends offered me her GA ticket for night 2, but she wanted to be in line when doors opened for rail. I couldn't get out of work to get there that early. Kinda sucks but least saved some money (she offered it to me for about $80 which is a pretty good deal) just couldn't make it happen.

Kinda wish they just roll into making the next album given how well they are playing and how great Thom sounds. I kinda feel like this is similar to the pre-In rainbows tour they did. Sans playing new stuff of course.
awesome....I really wanted to hear Subterranean, went to four shows and didn't get it, also noticed they haven't played it for like a year or something.

Mind: blown.
Boston 2 was the best of the 4 in my opinion, but they were all incredible. Philly 1 was probably my 2nd favorite.
