This tour looks to be shaping up as good as (if not better than) the In Rainbows tour. Saw them twice in 2008 and they blew my mind. Found the 2012 show to be extremely dull. They're really mixing it up this time around. Optimistic last night as well!

Interesting to read this. I saw them once in 2012 and was quite disappointed by the show. Never really got into it that night for some reason. Saw them for the second time in two weeks last Friday at Primavera Sound and they blew me away again! The only thing I was slightly disappointed about Friday is that they didn't play Identikit and Present Tense! Love the new album!

after seeing Radiohead live many times going back to the Bends tour, I can say that they are probably the most hit or miss live band I have seen. their albums except King of Sh-t are always great. their live shows... can be the best show ever Bonnaroo 2006/Atlanta 97 or be totally boring Charlotte 2008/Atlanta 2003.

well, I did see them open for REM and at a club shows, so guess i kinda got spoiled.
I always felt that they didn't translate to the larger places. of course, they proved my wrong at Bonnaroo 2006. that show was legendary. didn't like the charlotte setlist in 2008. they could've thrown in so many better songs than "Sail to the Moon".
I took 8 years off (whoa) and I am ready to see them live again!!!

Edit: looking back on that setlist... that was pretty good. it was the start of a run where I saw REM, Radiohead, Daniel Johnston and Pearl Jam within a month's time. I guess that is why I always remembered that show badly. it was the 4th best on that list of shows I saw that month.

I still haven't even heard that whole thing! Radiohead are being idiots about Spotify, and youtube doesn't have the complete album either. Irritating. I don't want to buy the record until I can have a full listen.

I doubt that it's Radiohead "being idiots about Spotify", rather, probably them not getting paid royalties they're due, or licensing issues, or maybe exclusive contract with Apple Music for a certain period of time. In any case, if you're going to stream it legally when given the opportunity, and you're going to buy the record, why wouldn't you just obtain it now knowing they're going to get your money anyways?

It is about royalties and shit (not about their own contracts though). The reason I say they're being idiots about it is because they have almost all of their other albums on Spotify, but trash it at the same time. They are specifically holding back the new album because they feel pissy towards Spotify. They said something to that effect. Yet they JUST made In Rainbows available this week. Plus they have made the new album available on other streaming services that function the same way. Seems to me they just made some anti-Spotify statement at some point, and now are keeping it up in a really wishy-washy, kinda-sorta way just so that they don't look like complete hypocrites (they just look like partial hypocrites this way, lol). So yeah, I do think they are being idiots about Spotify. If you're going to take some principled stand against Spotify, fucking either take the stand or don't. Pull all your music, or put it all up there.

And I don't know I'm going to buy the record. That's the point. I want to hear it before deciding to buy it and giving them my money. And I don't want to pay for it twice. It would be real nice if I could give it a listen on the streaming service where I can listen to all their other albums.

    On Spotify now.

I'm looking at it right now. The new album isn't on there. The first two tracks are available to play (the singles) and the rest is blacked out. It looks like some user just made a playlist of the album, but since they are all songs that aren't allowed to stream on Spotify, it's a useless playlist.

Am I the only one who lost interest in Radiohead after OK computer. I bought Hail to the Thief when it came out but apart from that. Maybe too modern for me.

Evidently, XL has said that even though the sticker on the shrinkwrap may say "white" vinyl it may actually be black. Here are the barcodes that you can check before you buy it, if you care.
    White Barcode:
