There's no way they can't be number 1 now, especially since Michigan State beat Purdue today.

you know, it would not surprise me one bit if the AP ranked SU #1, but the coaches poll/espn poll ranked duke #1.

yeah, not too shabby for a team that was picked to finish sixth in their conference before the season started.

Going to be a fun rest of the year. I am optimistic about Syracuse but don't want to get my hopes up. Looked fucking great Saturday though.

yep, which is surprising. For me a down year for the Orange is if they're picked fifth or sixth.

huh, i hadn't heard the sporting news picks before. the only number i've heard over and over was the preseason #6.

this has just been an amazing season. such a huge difference in how the team plays without devo and harris. i have never seen SU share the ball as much as they have this season. and rautins gives his father a run for his money with these amazing no look passes he pulls off. AO must have been practicing free throws every day since last season ended, too. it's odd seeing him take the second free throw during a one and one.

should be interesting this saturday. can SU hold on to the #1 spot by winning in louisville and exacting revenge from the loss earlier in the season? with SU being undefeated on the road this season, i'm betting yes, they'll get that win.

nice win against the johnnies tonight. beat the spread, too. i miss the good ole days when they were the redmen and had carnasecca as their head coach.

lol, good thing i don't bet with money anymore. they've got SU's number this season. good for louisville, there's no way they can be locked out of the big dance now. hopefully, we don't run into them again in the NCAA tourney.

Steve, if I recall the chant goes something like this "UCANT, UCANT, UCANT... classy comments by Calhoun saying St. John's could be a top five-six team in the Big East next year. hopefully that actually turns out correct.

What a terrible, terrible year for UConn basketball.

Well, on the men's side. The women are, as usual, wiping the floor with everybody else.

You can tell that Calhoun is embarrassed. You know he isn't going to allow this next year. It's really a shame that they couldn't do anything with those upset wins they garnered, but if you're going to get completely outplayed by St. John's (not dissing that team, they deserved to win), then you deserve the NIT, not an NCAA bid.

Although UConn-UNC would be a pretty funny NIT championship match, assuming both teams make that tournament, of course.

That would be a good matchup but I don't see it happening because a lot of times when programs of that level have a disappointing year and settle for the NIT, they don't play motivated or with any sense of purpose. One instance that comes to mind is one year when Syracuse was in the NIT and lost at home in the first round to Florida State in a half-empty Carrier Dome.

Christ Almighty Larry this could be your lucky day...PJ tweets and the Johnnies crushing the hapless Huskies!

Steve, if I recall the chant goes something like this "UCANT, UCANT, UCANT... classy comments by Calhoun saying St. John's could be a top five-six team in the Big East next year. hopefully that actually turns out correct.

johnnies looked good yesterday...and how about the end of that hall/prov game! the hall almost blew it! now that my team is out, i can actually enjoy watching ALL of the games. i will pull for syr because of alliances there, but i also hope nova wakes itself up so as to not disappear in the ncaa's.
I love to turn you on
