I confess that I always thought, literally until this moment, that it was J. Geils proper.

Yes, I'm just saying I thought it was JG.  I didn't know Peter had a solo career.

Interesting side note, trivia question.  Tom Petty wrote a song for J. Geils way back in the day and it was so good, his band/producer convinced him to keep it for himself.  Without looking it up, anyone know what it is?  When you hear, you'll say.. yeah I could see that as a JG song.

    J. Geils Band- Peter Wolf in the middle, with the goatee.  J Geils is the dude wearing the shades, next to the guy with the afro.

You meant to post a photo of the band rather than a line-up photo, right?

If Massey is "10", then this is a solid 9. Not quite a awesome but good voice is on good order,  recording is excellent and the set is a bit different. Not as much Harvest.

I'll have to check that out.  I'm not a big fan of bootlegs- they are a rip off for the artist and the generally don't sound very good- but I do have one Neil Young boot that I keep because a friend of mine gave it to me (if Neil asked me to give it back I would, on the stipulation that he retrieve it in person!).  So it's interesting to see that this Carnegie Hall LP looks kind of similar to the bootleg I have (Discogs photo- still trying to figure out how to post pics from my new smartphone):

The name of this new series is the "bootleg" series,  so I think he's trying to create that vibe.

I almost picked this up today, but got the Bowie greatest hits legacy vinyl instead.   I actually have an old bootleg that this concert is from, I guess from the show that was on that day but not the one he officially released, got it in ‘03 for $15 and that was big money for an old used bootleg vinyl at the time. Anyway OBS#1 will probably be my next vinyl purchase.

How is the sound quality on that Bowie?

It is very clear, everything is mastered well and one song flows into the next very smoothly.  I like that the track list isn’t chronological and skips around.  I’ve always wanted a way to listen to Bowie without going through each record and playing a song or two etc.  it’s a very nice set with clear sound, good mastering and most importantly an amazing flow.
