I just picked up a new copy of Captain Beefheart's Safe as Milk and now I can't find it.  I think I might have left it somewhere in town.  :frowning:

    Mono or stereo version?
    Found, woohoo!

    Stereo re-issue.  Preference?
Heh, I'm currently reading the Trout Mask Replica book in the 33 1/3 series.

    Those books are fun.
I have that book too!  Cool little book and, yes good series.  Would be cool to have a PJ 33 1/3 book!

TMR is a masterpiece. I have read some articles about the making of that album.

genius or torture depending on which band member you ask........

I'm surprised that no one died while making it.

 I think the good Captain starved a few of the musicians while recording it.

Great record but it's warped.  Back it goes.  :frowning:

The last month has been very, very good. I bought a few myself (Vault 7/fan club single), a few were Xmas gifts (Christmas Songs/Unplugged), but the rest I used gift cards I got for Xmas. Half of them have shown up this week. I’m going to get behind on listening pretty quickly.

I really like it. The cd has been on pretty regular rotation since December, but I'm looking forward to hearing the vinyl at the weekend.

After hearing 'Children of Destiny' I wasn't expecting too much, but the rest of the album is so much better (I still skip CoD). It's still an anti-Trump record from angry Neil ("The boy king don't believe in science, it goes against the big money truth. His playpen is full of deniers, they'll flush our future down the tubes"), but it's got some really great grooves and it's a lot more focused than something like Peace Trail, Monsanto Years, or Living With War.

I'll be interested to hear what you think of 'Carnival', Brian...

I'll let you know!  I'm hopefully heading down to a favorite record store next week- they should have the album.

Building my own Pearl Jam box set of sealed viny for as cheap as possible. All 10 studio albums. Picking them up one at a time when I have a little extra cash. Buying on sale, with coupon codes, credits, etc. Gonna see how low I can go. The goal is to be finished by the Fenway shows in September.

    Ten (OG Mix Reissue 2017)

    Vs. (Reissue 2011)

    Vitalogy (Reissue 2011)

    No Code (Reissue 2016)

    Yield (Reissue 2016) Amazon - $15.42 w/tax - $9.60 credit = $5.82 (12/19/17)

    Binaural (Reissue 2017)

    Riot Act (Reissue 2017)

    Pearl Jam (Reissue 2017)

    Backspacer (OG 2009) Barnes and Noble $23.42 w/tax - $4.95 (25% off coupon) - $2.20 (10% off promo) = $15.77 (12/23/17)

    Lightning Bolt (OG 2013)

    Total Paid - $21.59

    Just preordered this,

As part of its 25th anniversary, the 1993 album from Digable Planets, titled Reachin’ (A New Refutation of Time and Space), is getting a new vinyl pressing. This is the first pressing since the original release and it’s been “expanded as a double LP for improved sound.” You’ll also get new liner notes, lyrics for the first time and more.

The Light In The Attic exclusive is on blue and lavender blended vinyl, limited to 1,000 copies. Select retail stores will also get a gold variant, limited to 1,000.

The album includes “Rebirth Of Sick (Cool Like Dat),” which took home a Grammy.

The pressing will be released on Feb. 23.
    Alright, alright, alright!
