Read both sound amazing. My AYE and Axis are pretty average sounding.
The Bowie, not someone I've listened to a ton. Only have a pretty crappy copy of Diamond Dogs and its better than I remember, after I revisited it upon his death. Always liked the hits, but I'm thinking I'll be getting more Bowie.

Did get the orange Axis from Newbury Comics? I love the music but don't love the album. Maybe it's the mono sound...
Got RHCP hits today. Its flat and quite on gray vinyl. Pressed at Pallas US. Cut by Chris Bellman. Unfortunately Chris had to work with a crappy master.
Are you saying it's just ok?
Yeah. Its passable if you just want their singles. certainly if you want the 2 new tracks and Soul to Squeeze.

No, just a standard black copy from Amazon. From all accounts, the more recent mono pressings are incredible.
It's definitely possible that you don't dig the mono sound, especially if you like the more psychedelic and swirly aspects of Axis. I read it described as much more raw take on Axis, and that appealed to me, already owning a passable stereo copy of Axis.
I can let you know how it sounds, in general and how it compares to the stereo.

Yeah, let me know.. I feel like the mono is clean, but a little clinical or something..

Man, I have to say this sounds incredible. I'd describe it as more of everything. Lotsa little touches that pop when compared to stereo from memory. Bass is thick and smooth. I don't find it's missing the swirls, but it does sound significantly different. Several instances of reverb use where I never noticed I before.
Maybe what you call clinical, I call detail and clarity. Or... I have a pretty crummy setup for now, so maybe some of the cleaner edges are getting dulled going through my chain.

Just got a new vinyl player and some vinyl last week after visting a local vinyl expo. Gonna add those I own on other formats and new ones I never physically owned on whatever is cheap and looks good. Haven't had my taxes done yet but I figure I'd make a big purchase before I get a lot back soon.

This might be the best vinyl or even CD that I own. Neil is absolute perfection in this show. I'm not sure how his voice could sound any better. The pressing is beautiful too.
