@ timewaits4no1, haha thanks for empathizing, it was definitely cringe worthy, just sitting and reading when I heard this crash beside me, also had friends coming over to watch football that Sunday and had a mess of vinyl scattered everywhere. When I pull out the records with bent covers I still grind my teeth. Should of known
I never did listen to Outkast back in the day, but did dig their singles. First time I listened to this album this morning and pretty impressed. Definitely more old school rap feel to them, rather than the different styles evident on Stankonia and Speakerboxxx/Love Below. Some very catchy rhymes on this one, those dudes were definitely talented.

in my top 10 albums of all time regardless of genre.
UPS man just dropped off Sound City vinyl. Played 2nd disc already, sound quality is ridiculous. Not a big Foo Fighters fan but Dave Grohl has done a wicked job on this.
This is a Holy Grail for me and was lucky enough to get this off a great fella from the 10 Club... IL266460, what a legend!
Awesome! I'm still waiting on my Nick Cave Push The Sky Away - Amazon is still waiting to get more in. :fp: Should have found a different seller, but the shipping was free with Amazon. Oh well. Patience is a virtue.

Well you go by the old terminal pub, and then it looks like you've gone over the Queensboro and are heading south...
Also, am I correct in thinking that was the antique store on Antique Alley - the one on the corner with the crazy amount of vinyl, but a lot of it is always in boxes? I used to go there all the time to buy vinyl, and I got along with the owner well, but we had a falling out. The guy doesn't price any of his records, so one day, after he sat there umming and ahhing about what to charge me for a couple of Zeppelin records, I suggested a price, and he freaked out on me, yelled at me for "telling him what to charge", and went on to insist that he could charge way more than the going prices because he was adding a SHIPPING cost onto it (since I would have to pay shipping if I didn't buy them in a store - not that HE ever paid shipping for them). Ummmmm, dude, you have no prices on your shit - this is call dickering, and I was only trying to do it subtly; I was not being pushy about it, but he was taking his time trying to figure out how much he could overcharge for them, so I threw something out there. Maybe he was having a bad day, but he treated me, a good regular customer, like shit. And he already liked to try and take advantage of me because I was a female buying vinyl - I already knew that, but he often has good stuff so I let it go until then. Anyway, I told him he just lost a customer and I left, and now I can't shop there anymore (not that he would mind I'm sure - I just have to stick to my guns). :( :( I thought he was a pretty cool guy before that - we talked quite a bit when I would go there and everything. I don't know why he suddenly blew up like that, but I'm still kind of irritated. :x

What is it about old guys that have hoardes of dusty vinyl and being eccentric? I dunno but there seems to be a connection there. I gues women get cats and guys get vinyl?

I have a cat AND vinyl!
But yeah, that guy is definitely an eccentric - I think he's a hoarder, actually, but is luckily still able to sell some of his hoard.... Couldn't have picked a better career I guess!

the guy is pretty messed up, nice, but I can tell he's ornery, if you mistep.
I won't go back until he can convince me he will give me a better deal. he has mentioned the shipping thing to me also. He's out to lunch on a lot of prices for sure.

:fp: I wish he'd at least get more organized. He once couldn't find me an album that had been playing only 20 minutes earlier. And he sometimes stacks the records horizontally. :nono: Also, he once told me that there was a PJ album in one of those boxes (some vinyl hoarder had just died), and kept promising to dig it up for me, and kept promising; I kept coming in and asking about it.... turned out he was full of shit - there was no PJ album. But still, sometimes he has some pretty good records, despite the stupid prices. I wish I could go back in there i it used to be a nice part of my semi-frequent visits to downtown New West. But I can't - have to stick to my principles.

i OFFERED to come in on my day off to come and help him organize all the records for like 90 bucks worth of records at the end of the day. He didnt want me to organize them. It would be pretty easy, would take a day or 2.

That was a generous offer! I can't believe he didn't take you up on it! :fp: Frankly, I think your offer suggested to him that he would also actually have to do some work. I think his main problem might be extreme laziness.
