I've been wanting this on vinyl all summer & been waiting for the right price to happen.....

My fav record store local to my work is reducing in size :( so having a 20% off sale & I thought, ooh, ooh, what can pick up & VOILA!! I'm SO stoked!! Spin, spin, spin, oh but not tonight as I'll be at GLEN HANSARD & The Frames gig!!! 8-) March is ROCKIN! :D
Doing the 1st spin now!! 1st impressions?.... a wee bit of extra depth but not much. Maybe I just don't have it up loud enough. :o:lol:8-)

    e.t.a. Mmmmm... Nice..... 8-)

editedagaintoadd ooooh I do like this album! :)

We hit two record stores spontaneously after work :) The Howlin' Wolf is a re-issue and sounds fantastic, we're spinning it right now. Sticky Fingers is only the cover, but I have never seen a real one with the zipper, so we got that for a couple of bucks. The rest were 5 dollars each. And we picked up a Merkin Ball cd single. Sweet way to spend the evening!

Just spun it and overall it's a solid addition to the collection. The audio is a little rough but that's expected since it was recorded in a bowling alley 13 year ago before they were anybody, ha. I think it's cool to hear how they sounded back in the day....I really like the 7" though to hear the alt versions of the songs.

Yea TMR always does a great job with making the wax look damn good. The Jack White Live at TMR is the sexiest damn packing I've seen, ha. Now that one sounds great.

The most disappointing though is the Northern Lights B-Shows LP. I was so pumped to have finally gotten a copy at a reasonable price and just couldn't even listen to it. I tried and really wanted to hear something good but it was just such awful recording. :x . That sucked...just a heads up if anyone had their on their list.

There may be no holier grail for me ... "Happy Days" is one of my all-time favourite records by one of my all-time favourite bands, Catherine Wheel. I miss this band so, so much. I consider it a bonus that the record is still factory-sealed and pressed on clear vinyl.

(Image is too big to post, so the link is to the product page.)

Yeah not bad right, check out some more of their stuff, Vortura is another album. Bailterspace are a bit of a legendary band here in NZ, they started out in my home town of Christchurch as The Gorgons back in the 80's. They had a reputation as one of the most ear-splitting loudest bands around.

got 4 Outkast records through the popmarket deal, this one i most familiar with, looking forward to spinning the next 3

Nice score. Their first album with the comic-book style cover is great and was done while they were right out of High-School. I'm still hunting for a few of those myself but am in save mode right now(or trying at least....sigh)

yep, it's a great album by a great band that sounds awesome on vinyl

How about this awesome threesome on the record:
    Lost In The Supermarket
    Clampdown
    The Guns of Brixton

I think side 2 of record 1 will get a lot of play when I need a Clash fix

ah, are you referring to Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik? Or ATLiens as their first? I have ATLiens and Aquemini to listen to

I really liked a handful of Outkast singles but never really listened to their albums. There is some allright tracks on these albums, and it's nice to have some diversity in genre's for my record collection

I know what you mean on avoiding buying I went through a couple of months of holding back then went on a splurge of late lol

I was actually confusing the 2. Southerplaylisticcadillacmuzik was their first album but I was referring to Atliens. That and Aquemni are my favorites and are both great albums. Kind of a flashback for me since I was listening to this stuff right along with Pj in the 90's. Love the horn/rythmn section in Aquemmni. It just had that smooth swing like you had just walked into some smoky jazz club. Lots of good stuff on those 2 albums. Yeah, I'm trying to hold out between Pj and NIN tours and then throw in RSD. Lol, too much cool stuff and too little $.

Lol yeah, see what I was trying to do there....soften the blow a little :) . I literally cringed after reading about it when you first posted so I'm glad ya found something. I've been thinking about trying to get/find plans to build something to house my vinyl before my gf kills me for having our family room consumed by the vinyl monster. Currently I just have everything in boxes and Odysey Dj cases but it just takes up too much damn room. Bye the way, for any1 looking for something temporary, liquor boxes meant for the larger 750Ml bottles fit 12"vinyl perfectly. Think Absolut, Svedka, or Jagermeister. Most liquor stores will gladly give them up if u ask.
