I wasn't going to post anymore pictures...but...people started posting pictures also...so...

Today I took the children to the beach for Science class...Physical Education...and whatever else I could come up with... ...It was quite breezy as we studied animal prints...the ebbing and flowing ocean...

Our faces, hands and ears became so cold they tingled. We laughed the whole run down the beach. When we arrived home, we all went straight to work on dinner...

A Very Spicy Vegetarian Three Bean Chili with a Vegan Corn Bread Muffin...

This chili has three different beans, veggie sausage, carrots, tomatoes, onions, red and green bell pepper and A LOT spices. It's topped with cheese and scallions. I would have topped it with sour cream, because who doesn't like a mouthful of sour cream, but I was out. The children warned me before dinner that they were NOT eating the chili...and well...they didn't! The vegan corn bread was a winner...as usual!

I wish I knew...I don't like cooking, and I don't like grocery shopping so there's rarely anything to cook! I've been sitting here for about an hour trying to figure this out. Maybe I'll have some eggs...I just wish I had something to put in them or on them!

I skipped dinner last night
because I made the kids home made macaroni and cheese during the afternoon and found myself eating a big plate of it around 4 pm (is that linner or dunch)

now I am starving
I wish I could snap my fingers and have a big plate of juevos rancheros with black beans

pan grilled rib eye with rosemary
grilled oyster mushrooms

last night we had bacon turkey cheddar burgers with raw onions, hot sauce and whole wheat buns and they were delicious! never ate a turkey burger before, and while i would still say i prefer beef or bison burgers, the turkey was good and would have again - so healthy. (tho the bacon, while yummy, not exactly a healthy addition, but it is also a very rare addition)


tonight we're having chicken-proscuitto whole wheat ravioli with arrabiatta sauce....YUMMM!

we LOVE to do that and do so often. any takeout meal is a given to be eaten like that.
placemats, candles, takeout...all on the table...and us cross-legged on the floor. just such an intimate dinner.
