Love it!! I'm veggie, but a pretty crap cook. Everything looks so tasty and beautiful. It looks like you put a lot of love into your cooking.<a href="http://s952.photobucket.com/albums/ae8/catkinson_2009/?action=view¤t=domo.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i952.photobucket.com/albums/ae8/catkinson_2009/domo.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>0

my wife is Japanese and is a tremendous cook-so I am spoiled when to comes to Japanese food!
although tonight is home made chicken soup
but we had soba with kitsune tofu for lunch!0 -
Tonight's Sunday fall/football dinner; BLT and tomato soup.
Thick cut peppered bacon from the butcher, green leaf lettuce, vine ripened tomatoes, extra sharp Tillamook cheddar cheese,on toasted 100% whole grain wheat bread with a little mayo. Along with good old fashion Campbell's Tomato soup!! It was damn good!! Wish I would have taken a picture for you all to see.
Also enjoying a few 2009 Jubelale's.0 -

Now that's how you over dramatize what is essentially a basic BLT.<a href="http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v44/brother123/?action=view¤t=thewh0.png" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v44/brother123/thewh0.png" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>0 -

skyeriverwinter wrote:you must get me your wifes recipe for hijiki salad....PLEASE!!!
pour warm, not boiling, water over seaweed let sit for 30 mins
shelled edamame
bit of red and yellow pepper diced small
dressing: rice wine vinegar, yuzu juice, vegetable oil and a little sesame oil (a few drops is plenty)
I dont have quantities as I do it by taste-splash of this splash of that-basically a yuzu vinagrette but using a flavorless oil
drain seaweed well, I usually pat it dry because I dont like when it gets too soggy-but my wife thinks I am crazy for doing it
add vegetables and dressing-toss
adjust seasonings
garnish with shiso leaf
there are hundreds of variations-once you get a feel for the seaweed, you can do what ever you like
some cook the hijiki in dashi and add carrots-thats the more traditional way of serving it-but I like this salad a lot0 -

Today's lunch is a very hard lunch to make because the kids are always running off with the tofu and veggies eating them before I can put lunch together.I was smart today...I sent them out to play...
Today's lunch is...Momma's Tofu Salad...the tofu salad is made with tofu, celery, carrots, scallions, mayo and mustard. I placed it on a bed of romaine lettuce, savoy cabbage, red cabbage, carrots, tomatoes, radishes and scallions.
The children get tofu salad on whole wheat bread with romaine lettuce and a side of celery and carrot sticks, grapes, and grape tomatoes.0 -

I've never really enjoyed tofu - do you marinate it?<a href="http://s952.photobucket.com/albums/ae8/catkinson_2009/?action=view¤t=domo.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i952.photobucket.com/albums/ae8/catkinson_2009/domo.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>0
