Good point. A lot of people wrote off Jeter.

I don't buy that honestly. He's reaching. I can't remember the exact season but Jeter had a horrible first half...I thinkit was 03 or 04 and Jeter was getting booed at Yankee Stadium.

I'm talking about 2010 and early last year. He looked shot. Everyone thought that was a terrible contract. He was horrific in 2010.

Girardi is not going to say anything mildly controversial about Arod in this.

Not my boldest prediction ever, but yep.

But yethealways showed up in the playoffs. I'm looking at Jeter;s career stats as I' typing this and 2010 was not the most "Jeter" type year it still wasn't horrible...and there wasnt really a fanbase calling for him to be traded either.

Girardi likes to use alot of "we's" when it comes to decision making. The longer he stays with the Yankees the more I seem to realize he was probably chosen over Mattingly because he is a yes man and a stats man.

Good thing the hysterical fanbase doesn't dictate the teams decisions. It was pretty horrible. He is my favorite player ever but he looked very old.

Edit: And there was a significant portion on Cashmans side telling him to let him find another contract then come back to the team.

Jeter was never benched, moved down in the order, or pinch hit for.

Arod was...most of the fan base doesn't like him. That's a fact. When you're at the Stadium the majority isn't waiting for him to succeed....they're waiting for him to fail. That's a problem and more and more he's failing...especially in the playoffs.

But there were fans calling for it...so by your philosophy, it should have happened, right?

ARod has had his picture on the mantle ever since he came to NY. COme on. He was pretty much hated since day one. It's his time and I fully believe he's gone. For every anti_jeter article there's 100 hundred pro ones. That DEFINATELY can not be said about ARoid.

Such a generalization. Sure he gets booed by some and it got louder as the playoffs went on, but during the ALDS the entire bleachers were literally trying to will a hit out of the guy. If he did something big, that stadium would have fucking exploded. It's a love-hate relationship with the guy for sure but there is no way I would say "most of the fan base doesn't like him".

I have always said football has destroyed so many baseball fans. It's those people that I feel hate Arod. Maybe there are more now after this year, but in general, I always found it to be the knuckleheads.

Like I said, it's a good thing hysterical fans don't dictate the Yankees moves. I do dig your generalizations. He is a polarizing player. Always has been. ANd obviously about Jeter, I'm just saying, there was a corner of Yankees fans that were calling for him to bat 9th and for the Yanks to let him walk.

And I couldn't care less if Arod had gay porn on his mantle. I love watching the dude play baseball, until these past couple years at a least. But a bomb by Arod for me, is one for the more exciting things in baseball.

You've been waiting a while for one of those bombs then! Especially in the playoffs.

Come on. This is not some overnight thing with ARod. It's been building and building. It's now reached the time to pop. Quite simply that's the way it is. And saying the majority of Yankee fans don't like ARod may be in your eyes a generlization but in my eyes is a realization. When he comes to back he literally sucks the life out of the Stadium with fans just waiting for him to fail.

Ha, I couldn't disagree more as someone who attended 10-15 or so games this year. Even when he is slumping, I feel like the stadium always feels like something big could happen. And yes, there are always boos when it doesn't but that stuff is just idiotc.

Whatever, we know you don't like the guy.

On that note, I'm out, the only good thing about not having a game tonight is that I won't be distracted all night while having steaks and whiskey.

Edit: And the feeling during the ALDS was for real. That whoel stadium was behind him like I have never seen. It was awesome.
