yeah he is....and for the most part, I think closers are over-rated.

    I hear you.

Last night was so awesome. Nibbled and just missed on the first 2 pitches to Arencibia, said okay, if you aren't going to give me those, I'll just strike him out over the plate. Done.

Next batter...Sawed off a bat, as always. Then freezes Lawrie (I think it was him) on an absolutely filthy pitch inside to end the game.

Dude is 43 and looks like he is in his prime.

Probably a blessing. He blows balls too.

GOOD FUCKING THING THE YANKEES BUNTED TO GET THE FUCKING GUY IN SCORING POSITION WHEN LAFFEY CAN'T HIT THE FUCKING STRIKE ZONE.

No, my fucking caps lock is not broken.

Walk, Bunt, Walk, Walk. FUCKING GRAND. Good thing they got that guy into scoring position and gave away an out.

    BWHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH

Cervelli broke his hand and Nova has elbow pain.

    Youkilis is likely DL bound.

This season is going to be hysterical

Crazy. I read the other day that there were like 31k in attendance. I think it was a record low for the new stadium maybe.. Yikes. But they DO find ways to win.

Personally I think Hafner might have earned more time against left-handed pitching.

This is great. I may have to make it a point to get to whatever game this will happen before.

Francisco blows. He has to be able to put up better numbers than him against lefties.

Nice. I hope so. I do think getting under makes sense to a degree, they are giving a lot of money away for nothing. But they are looking like they are going to get upwards of $750 million from the YES sale up front and then $85 a year, escalating annually at 4%, for broadcasting rights.

Yankees Warn Eduardo Nunez To Stop Showing Up Derek Jeter By Making Routine Plays At Shortstop

NEW YORK—Multiple reports from within the New York Yankees clubhouse confirmed Saturday that team officials have warned shortstop Eduardo Nunez to stop showing up injured team captain Derek Jeter by making routine plays in the field and at the plate. “Every cleanly fielded ground ball sends a pretty strong message that Eduardo is trying to upstage Derek,” said Yankees manager Joe Girardi, who blasted Nunez for having the audacity to turn a double play without a throwing error, claiming the commonplace display of physical capabilities clearly reminds fans of Jeter’s advancing age and declining skills. “He needs to just cut it out; he’s making Derek look bad. Last week, when Eduardo legged out an infield single, that was like a direct slap in the face to our team captain.” Girardi, however, lauded third baseman Kevin Youkilis for helping everybody forget that Alex Rodriguez is still on the team.
