When will players realize you don't slide into first base? It's proven that you don't get there faster. Run through the base.

You do anything for the team in a situation like that. Gardner did it in the ALCS game 1 in 2010 and was safe.

But he still would have gotten to the base faster by running through. Saw some sports show about it. Not only is it unsafe it's just not faster. The moment you stop running you're slowing down. Now if you're trying to avoid a tag of the first baseman up the line thats a different story. I used to carck up watching Kenny Lofton doing it all of the time. :fp:

Lost by 20. Big deal. It happens. How many did the fish lose by today? Oh wait...they're "rebuilding". You know what that means when a coach says that? It means we suck.

Do you think MLB will let the Yankees take a credit for some of today's runs and be able to use them in other games this month?

Well, not worst case scenario but not good by any stretch of the imagination. 14 days gets him back with just about a week left in the season. No rehab games obviously, so he is going to have to get timing down in the big leagues, possibly in the middle of a dogfight. Should be interesting. He'd make a huge difference in the middle of that lineup over the next few weeks. Then again, Baltimore is dealing with a much more important injury that will definitely hurt them more than this will hurt the Yankees.

Might as well shut him down as we're probably better off without him in the postseason as he's been nothing but a failure.

    .170 batting average 3hr's and 12 rbi's

Thats fucking pathetic for a guy making 180mm

That is pathetic but I'd like to have his glove at first.
