    Not long enough :(

I still like the way we are playing overall, the Sox are 10-2 against us this year, we are only a game back..... Take that all day everyday with how bad the results against them have been

The CC thing needs to change, next time around. I completely trust in him. But he has to throw a solid game against them soon.

I'm hoping Hughes would be able to start on Tuesday since this was basically a throw day. He could go on Tuesday. Nova on Wednesday.

Rays are a pretty good team, some really good pitching. I would say they are close to being on the same level as the Braves, not record wise but they are pretty good and have to face Boston and New York 18 times each this year.

add the yankees or redsox to the nl east, with them having to play the phils and braves 18 times a year without a dh, and they would most certainly have a few more losses in the loss column. that is the juggler's guarantee.

rays are decent. orioles are the 2nd worst team in all of baseball though. evens out. i don't buy that the al east is so much better than the nl east. they are the top 2 divisions in baseball.

Perhaps but the Yankees this year are at a clear disadvantage this year with their DH situation. Dead last in every category.

O's suck, Blue Jays have their bright spots and are above .500, Rays are pretty good and the Yankees and Boston are in the top 3 teams in the game. You can't compare a division with those two teams to any other division in baseball, they both have a +140 run differential this year.

...and the phillies are the top team while the braves are the 4th best.

look i just compared them :o:lol:

Phillies took 2 of 3 from Red Sox & Blue Jays this year. The AL East teams run differential is probably run up by playing the shitty AL Central.

As neily mentioned, I live here so I have more to add than just baseball, especially the way that thread goes. Also, I am a fan of baseball in general and that is one of the more active threads. Living here, the Phillies are probably the team I see and hear about the second most, especially since they are good. And, regarding the Ryan Howard discussion, people need to be called on dumb shit they say. If I compared Tex to Babe Ruth or Ted Williams, I would full expect to get ripped.

Shitty loss last night. Really wanted them to get that game.

Find ways to speed up the games in the AL.

I saw a headline that Posada was "benched". I hope this doenst get to be too much of a circus because it would be nice to see him go on a high note and not fizzle out. It does seem like he's been doing a bit better lately. also, I had to check his career stats out of curiosity...how does a .270 lifetime hitter hit .338 (in '07)... just one big year??

Yeah, you're probably right to an extent at least. It is active and they are a very good team, not without a lot of arguments so I am sure I would be involved. Living here certainly helps though.

Haha, well I think he is just talking a little smack and busting balls as well.

Based on the stories, he was disappointed but accepted it. Hey I would too, 13 million for this year and now he gets essentially a month off. Almost as good as a no-show construction job.

At this point he doesn't really have a choice. If he puts up a fit, they would release him. It's a really sad way for a great Yankee career to end. Just terrible, he sounds cliche but he is such a competitor that it has to be killing him. Posada is an all time Yankee great and it's definitely a tough way to go out.

It's an outlier - they happen.

Was he really "benched" if he was just DH'ing to start with? He was usually on the "bench" anyway. Just got his ass up to bat every couple innings. What a stupid rule.

I know, I can't help myself. I fucking hate that rule so much. Almost as much as the "save situation" stat.

A DH who can't play the field getting WS MVP against my team didn't make me feel any better about it either.
