When I see Pearl Jam at the end of the month, I want to avoid traffic and other headaches. Do you agree?

  • completely...no offense Phillies fans.

I used to live in LA, so I'm rooting for the Dodgers no matter what. Less traffic in Philly is just a bonus.

    Let's go Dodgers!

I really thought the Rockies had that game in the bag last night. Damn you Huston Sreet!

Me too, but its also in part because they won last year so I hate to root against them anyway. :)
  • Wow, I could not agree with you less.

Suck it up and sit in traffic...enjoy a nitrous balloon or something.

As long as the Yankees make it to the WS, I'm happy.

  • Get to the venue lots early and tailgate. I will be leaving around 1230 takes about 2 hours to get there. There is also a Flyers game that night so traffic regardless of a Philles World Series game is going to be congested in and around the Sports Complex. I-76 and I-95 exits will be backed up onto the major arteries. Been to Philly to shop at the Eagles Pro Shop on a Saturday afternoon before a show at the Tower, and there were Flyer fans tailgaiting at 3:00 for the Saturday night game, which was the only thing going on in town that night. So IMHO regardless of a Phillies World Series game I would try to arrive at least 2.5 to 3 hours prior to the concert. You may be talking 40000 people in the area without a Phillies game and upwards of 90000 with the Phillies added in there.

Unless you're a Mets fan or something, that is massively weak.

A Pearl Jam concert with the World Series 500 feet away would be unreal.

    screw you

The Phillies being in the WS will make South Philly all that more electric

and yes, I took this personally, the Phils are my boys

i am more concerned about the Flyers game on 10/31 at 1 PM. How da heck are we going to hold the fort down in Parking Lot F for our Wishlist pre party (where we have no back up place to go if the Phils are playing as McFadden's would be out) if the Flyers fans get there early to tailgate and fill up Lot F? I need a beer....

I am just curious what would be worse for Mets Fans- the Yankess beating the Phillies to win the World Series, or the Phillies winning it again?

now that the sox are out

all I want is good baseball, deciding games, extra innings all that stuff

and I do agree that having the WS in philly while PJ is there would make for an exciting, electric atmosphere

except that we know PJ would have to take breaks to give the fans score updates

Hey I was there last year when the Who was playing at the Wachovia and the Phils were across the street, trust me, it ADDS to the whole experience

  • The only day that you'd have to worry about is Oct. 31 (of course the worst night). The National League play on the road at the American League's ballpark on the 28th and 29th.

yeah, don't really care either way.

taking the orange line sometime before 1pm. shouldn't be too bad, unless it's like the red line just before a cubs game

Last year Septa was very good at directing the crowd on the Broad Street line - this way for the Who - this way for the Phillies

and it was free, they just wanted to move the crowds along
