If the Phillies make it, I have tickets to game 4 (November 1st). That would be 24 hours of insanity if they make it. You better believe I'm rooting for them!

I heard somewhere that Philly fans are the meanest/rudest in sports. Is that true?

    completely...no offense Phillies fans.

I used to live in LA, so I'm rooting for the Dodgers no matter what. Less traffic in Philly is just a bonus.

    Let's go Dodgers!

I really thought the Rockies had that game in the bag last night. Damn you Huston Sreet!

Huston Street = Longhorn = Hook 'em = MVP of NLDS (for the phils)

was " Phail" an attempt at humor, or is that how you learned how to spell it?? I'm just curious. Oh, and yes, the phillies are going to phail.

Looks like the phils are closer to getting to the WS again. I've been persuaded that it would be a cool thing to be in Philly during all of that choas...so I say GO PHILS

I really don't care about baseball but I would prefer the Phillies do not make it to the World Series. There is nothing more annoying or out of place at a rock concert than a singer talking about sports. I fucking hate it. It's a cheap way to get a rise out of an audience and it's completely distracting from the show and the music. Sports and art do not mix well.

Up the chaos !!! As one of the folks with a ticket to a potential game/ monsoon rain out/ game to be continued two days later , and a Phils fan, I'd be very stoked.

  • It's kind of funny, as a Braves fan, the Braves consistently beat Philly this year. Problem is, no one else would. ARGH!

We are just VERY passionate about our teams! :D maybe not so much the Sixers anymore... I hope the Phillies take it again!!! Who cares about the traffic, that place will be so much fun on Halloween if they are in the series, you won't want to leave anyway!

I'm a Yankees fan at heart, and I even have a yankees rubik's cube, but while I watch the games I've been secretly rooting for the phillies. I LOVE the red uniforms! They are just much more attractive.

Philly thumbing their nose at the baseball gods ?

    Take a look at this:

    World Series Winners?

The Yankees should hang this in their locker room.
Inquirer Sorry For Bogus Phillies Ad
The Philadelphia Inquirer has apologized to readers for printing a Macy’s ad celebrating the Philadelphia Phillies victory over the Yankees in the World Series.

MyFoxPhilly.com was the first to report on the bogus Macy’s ad that appeared in today’s Inquirer. The newspaper later issued a statement, which deeply apologized for the error.

Slideshow: Newspaper Ad Gives Series To Phillies

The New York Yankees have a commanding 3-1 lead in the Series over the Phillies

"A Macy's advertisement in today's Inquirer incorrectly offered Phillies 2009 World Championship merchandise. The Inquirer deeply regrets this error. Macy's is a great corporate citizen, supporter of this region and our sports teams. We apologize for this error and any inconvenience this caused," said Howard Griffin, Vice President, National Advertising.

The ad features a T-shirt from Majestic that has a giant logo, with “Philadelphia Phillies 2009 Back-to-Back World Series champions.”

The same T-shirt is not for sale on Macy’s Web site.

The Phillies won the World Series in 2008.
