A Pearl Jam concert with the World Series 500 feet away would be unreal.

I couldn't agree more!! What an amazing day that would be!!

I forgot the Flyers are playing that day too! South Philly is going to be insane!

    Lets go Phils!!

Taking this very personally . Excuse me while I find a wall to punch. Seriously, I'm already attending the Flyers 1pm game on Halloween. The traffic won't bother me one bit. I'll be in the stadium area early . P.S. Don't cry about traffic. Philly has these things called subways and trains to alleviate the traffic in the stadium area. If the Phils play ( GO PHILLIES !!! BEAT L-A !!!) , my guess is even SEPTA will be smart enough to realize the need for extra trains and subway cars.

Apparently the NFL was concerned about the same thing. I just heard the Nov. 1 Giants-Eagles game was moved to a 1 PM start to avoid traffic.

what the hell would the Nov. 1 Eagles game have to do with anything? The last show is the night before????

and Septa was very accomodating last year, you can take the Broad street straight to the sports complex, avoiding traffic all together

fuck philly...fuck the phillies...and fuck baseball.

are we having a bad day?

or is someone just really jealous

i'm from nyc...how on earth could i be jealous of philadelphia?

    Hmmm, let's see...

    Your city is a shithole.
    The Mets are horrible.
It costs about $1200 to see a baseball team that hasn't won the World Series in 9 years (going on 10).
It costs about $15 to drive over/through every one of those ugly bridges & tunnels.
Your football teams play in an even worse shithole called the Meadowlands, in another state.
And, oh yea, Pearl Jam is playing here this month!

    Go Phillies!!!

NY and philly are both great cities. actually all of the cities in the NE portion of the I-95 corridor are great except for Baltimore

wait a minute, so you're coming here for the shows???

and you think this is the way to endear yourself to us fabulous Philly folks?

hmm, must be something in the water in NY because that certainly isn't the way I would go about it

but then again, I'm a nice person, so it must be something in the water here :D

make sure you drink lots of it while you're here, maybe it'll rub off on you

never understood why people feel the need to trash other people's locations, it's beyond me

i dont drink anymore and ive been around way too many drunken meathead fratboy types at philly-area shows for my liking so this isn't a baseless opinion. i even know someone that lives there that hates it so don't take it so personally.

well I'm sorry, I happen to love this city

oh and by the way, NY is devoid of such drunken assholes I'm sure of it

Like i said, I don't understand why people feel the need to do this, so it's your opinion, you didn't have to voice it

I'm assuming you did it just to piss people off and that's another thing I'll never understand

    have a nice day.

I am just curious what would be worse for Mets Fans- the Yankess beating the Phillies to win the World Series, or the Phillies winning it again?

Speaking as a die hard met fan, if its a phillies-yankees world series id have to root for the phillies. Living in new york city i will never hear the end of it if the yankees win, at least if the phillies win it wont be all over the news and tv and i wouldnt have to deal with yankee fans rubbing it in everywhere i go.
  • Is this thread for real??? I am going to take the high road here, and NOT tell you where you can stick your opinion.
  • Anyone who watched the 8th and 9th innings of game 4 against Colorado should know that this team is going to the World Series.

 Isnt it funny how the Mets hats all disappear when they suck, and the Yankees hats come out of the woodwork ONLY when they are good...Yet, there is supposedly such a split loyalty in NY...I say -GENERALLY- New Yorkers are loyal to whoever is winning! But this sentiment tells me there is at least ONE loyal fan in NY...

No respectable Mets fan would ever root for the Yankees. I am planning on injuring myself into a coma if they Phils-Yanks Series happens.

well if it's such a problem you could always stay the f home and leave the philly shows to real philly people.

    completely...no offense Phillies fans.

I used to live in LA, so I'm rooting for the Dodgers no matter what. Less traffic in Philly is just a bonus.

    Let's go Dodgers!

I really thought the Rockies had that game in the bag last night. Damn you Huston Sreet!

Kinda! I'm heading to the city of brotherly love. It would be great to see Philly win in the playoffs. I don't mind traffic. I'm alway's ready for anything. Though i'm walking from the hotel to the Spectrum, I think. So I won't have to worry about driving & stuff.
