It wasn't the blown call that sealed Twins fate -- it was Joe Nathan serving one up to Mr. May in the 9th. If you can't get A-Rod out in the post season what chance do you have?

  • Where to begin on this...

Obviously that call was bullshit. I don't think I've ever seen a botched call like that in the postseason—and they have extra umps out there too.

The Twins had ample opportunity to put this away. Burnett is nothing special and neither is most of Wankee pen. 17 guys left on base is inexcusable. The 11th inning was pathetic. Delmon is a good fastball hitter so I understand him swinging away if it's in the wheelhouse (Douchera had it played perfect) and he smoked it. Gomez not taking a pitch was completely retarded. I play D Level softball and even I know not to do that in that situation.

Let's nab these next two and roll the dice back in New York. If not at least the Yanks clinch here and the Metrodome can boo the fuck out of them.

  • With the Yankees it's not so much winning a game as it is cashing in your chips. It's so fucking perfunctory and boring.

wow, another walk off win. you still consider this boring yankee baseball? :)

looks like another cold winter coming up for the twins.

I do. It's incredibly boring. You throw a bunch of money at All-Star power hitters and then act shocked when the do what they do. Whoop dee shit.

I can't believe the umpire blew that call.

Yeah that ump should not see another post season game at all that was pathetic it was fair by a foot but still they don't give up at all ...

yeah, not only did it HIT melky's glove in fair territory, but it also landed fair. ump was right on top of it too.

    shit happens.

  • and ps - if you want me to generalize an entire fan base, you aren't making twins fans look very good with your ignorant, unresearched, immature remarks.

The Yankees have the most ignorant apathetic fan base in baseball. Watch the cameras when they point at the crowd sometime. They sit there with this "of course our Yankees will win so let's just get this over with" look on their ugly neanderthal faces. Just watch sometime, half of them are on cellphones not even looking at the game. Yankees fans don't love baseball they love feeling superior.

I found it funny about the note that the Yankees have spent $1.6 Billion on players salaries since their last championship. Not that championships mean anything but I still found that kind of funny.

ever been to yankee stadium? guessing not. the clowns on the cellphones you speak of are the ones sitting in the $2.5K seats. tell me, what real fan is sitting in seats that cost about the same as season package prices for the bleachers or upper deck?

where does your yankee hatred stem from? pat kelly piss in your lemonade?

Yeah that was bad. He threw three pitches outside and then just leaves one over the plate. I have no idea what his gameplan was there. That wasn't great hitting on A-Rod's part, if you throw a cookie like that it's going to get whacked.

you're right, it is pretty obvious... you sound like every other baby that hates the yankees. so ordinary you are.

hope you are a minnesota wild fan, because it looks like your baseball season is coming to an abrupt end.

I can. Phil Cuzzi is among the worst umps in baseball. Just call Ozzie Guillen for his thoughts on Cuzzi..

On the contrary, the Twins are going to kick Yankee ass with extreme prejudice in the Dome and then win game 5 in front of all your candy-ass Wankee sucking friends.

They've come back form 0 - 2 in the ALDS twice in recent memory ... 99 against the Indians and 03 against the A's ... so, not completely out of it.

Oh, and let's not forget, there were down 0-3 to the Yankees in '04 ... and we all know how that worked out, right?

agreed but i would have to say those were very different teams. those guys have showed absolutely zero fight in the last 2 games.

LIke I said 13 home grown players on the yankees postseason roster.

Pretty interesting you didnt respond to actual facts in the other thread.

13 Home grown but not to include:

    Starting 1B, 3B, LF, RF, & Top 2 SP.

    Great talent.

you obviously didn't watch those two series ... oooof. There was no way anyone really had huge hopes after two games.

oh, and no fight? Let's not forget, many of these guys were on the '07 team that came back down 1 - 3 against the Indians in the ALCS.

Let's not confuse "stimied by Angels pitching" for "no fight"

i hear ya. i was focusing more on this years team than comparing them to other years. 1 run and 8 hits in 2 games is pretty rough. fenway can help change a series in a hurry though.
  • Could you Red Sox fans and Wankees fans take your "which of our teams is destroying Major League Baseball more" argument elsewhere? You can bring the Angels fans with you as well.
