This smiley is brand new to me - in all my decades of surfing message boards and chat rooms, and receiving clever emails from friends, I have never seen this particular one. I feel like I've just spotted a bald eagle or even sasquatch. What is it and what does it mean kind sir?

It is my self portrait, or more specifically the snapshot of the look I would be giving you while seeing you sitting down at a PJ show. Took hours to make...hope you like it!

I wonder how people who hate standing/moshing/etc at a PJ gig would survive a European concert :)

I totally agree with the OP. And commend his courage for saying so.

I was so, so disappointed having acquired GA tickets for Manchester and London to find they were for a standing area. I tried sitting down and found being kicked all around wasn't the answer(in Manchester they did let us sit for a while but then they allowed everyone to stand up-very confusing) so I stood having no choice.

People were jumping, punching the air and generally behaving in a manner that was quite unexpected. There was not a chair to be found and access to toilets was very difficult with the press of a crowd that big.

The next time I buy GA I'll be sure to double check what it means. I was expecting a seat, usher service and maybe even free popcorn.

I guess it doesn't stand for Geriatric Admission as I originally thought.

My hubby is familiar with this thread so last night at the SD show during Ben Harper's set he kept whining "why are they (the people in front of us) standing up?", "why is it so loud? it hurts my ears, let's ask them to turn it down!" and "those stage lights burn my eyes, we should sue!" etc...

    ugh, men! enough already.

  • my favorite part was the "long term damage to ligaments and joints."
I don't believe those are the joints people worry about damaging at PJ shows!!

yes! it's that air punching that really gets to me too. my goodness, does it make one feel tough to punch thin air? all it really does is to further obstruct the view of folks behind one. one should really think about one's actions prior to one partaking in such actions.
