After Mike & I serioulsy gave it some thought last night, I think that's what we've decided to. Ima save that money and wait for a PJ only show.
that's how i'm leaning now as well. i saw them in a festival setting at lolla last year and i do like a lot of those bands but i don't feel the full pj experience in that kind of atmosphere. while i'd love to see a lot of those bands, i think i'd rather spend the money on real pj shows. so here's hoping there are some in the near future!

There will be, I'm sure... I can't see them playing only 1 festival show and then going on hiatus til next year, specially not on election year
I'm sure our patience will be rewarded.

I'd be more than happy to split costs on everything, but yeah, when you add it all up, it is a lot. And I think I'd rather spend it on a weekend in a city I've never been to, like Chicago last year.
But, that long set would be something.
It would really be helpful if they would tell us about other shows.

im not all that sure there will be other shows...at least not in 2008
all i know is the more i think about the cost of bonnaroo....the more i am leaning towards not going...
and if there are other shows (lets say a VFC small tour)....
lets hope they annouince what few shows there are all at once.....
Take me piece by piece..... Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....
i have taken a DEEP BREATH and i am trying to be logical about this....
and i just cant justify spending that kind of money on one show....
but who knows....
Just put it on the payment plan
There is no fucking way I would go to this show, because the cost and inconvinence are not justified for the bands which are listed. Sorry but camping for 4 days to see PJ play a 2 or 3 hour set isn't worth the hundreds of dollars that would be spent. Plus, there will be other shows and the hundreds of dollars would fund many a great tailgates throughout the eastern and middle United States...

That's exactly how I feel.
I thought the line up would be better but I was disappointed by the bands confirmed up til now and really turned off by Metallica, so Ima sit this one out and wait for more shows....I too think there will be other shows this year

I dont think we have a 2008 tour kinda thing in store, but I'm pretty sure they'll play at least a couple of shows, for the money I would spend to go to Bonnaroo I could fly and buy tickets to any other state in the country for a PJ only show (except for Hawaii and Alaska of course)...

You could make it an experience.....
Nashville is a cool, very musical (not just country by a long shot) city, if you'd be willing to say "f the festival" aside from when the bands you like are playing. The people are very friendly, the food is fantastic (get some BBQ!), and there are music bars open all over the place. I believe there are quite a few blues & jazz bars as well, although not as many as in Memphis (another awesome city - though I've never been to that one).
Then, you'd get to see a cool city you may not ever go to again, see PJ, eat some food, get treat with great southern hospitality, and maybe hear some rock/blues/jazz you wouldn't get to hear ordinarily. Plan that shit right, you will only be at the festival when you wanna be and you'll be out being awesome in downtown Nashville when "Ten Hairy Women" or whoever is onstage.
someone here posted pictures of last years bonnaroo ........................
i saw all those sweaty dirty hippys playing in the mud....
and i realized i am not ready to deal with that kind of nonsense for 4 days...
hehehehe..........
yeah i was going to pm you aftet i saw those picts i knew i didn't wan't to be doing this festival ,hell LOLLA is something totally different i mean after everynight was over i had a nice clean bed great shower and ac to sleep in right across from Grant park i would do that again in a heart beat ......plus the fiasco is making another apperance..

Yeah, I'm most likely out. I have a destination wedding the week before in Maui so trips on back to back weekends is probably not going to happen.
Plus the Red Sox are in Philly right after Bonnaroo and I'll spending a good chunk of change to get good tix for them.

oh i have no problem playing in the mud,
but it'd have to know there is nice, warm
shower waiting at the end of the day.
i don't even wanna think about 4 days of it...yikes.
it is a huge undertaking, planning such a trip.
had flashbacks of sweaty legs and arms hitting you in the head and back huh??

by day 2 at this festival i could see myself being convicted of murder....
hehehehehehehehehehe..................
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....
yes...this is a different animal entirely.
and i don't think i realized the primitive nature
of this festival until just today.
i'm thinking we are going to get another Lolla
performance this year, though i could be wrong.
and you are correct......this festival is PRIMITIVE!!!!!
and way too fucking expensive to go live like a fucking caveman for 4 days....
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....
I'm actually from Louisville.....
and you've been to the Derby and I have not.....
That's kind of messed up, on my part.
My parents did have awesome Derby parties back in the day, though.
we have been doing it for over 10 years......
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....
