    My cousin does that. Her husband built her an area in the garage for rehabbing the stray cats. She pays to have them neutered and cared for, then places them or keeps them, depending on what the situation is. I think she has about four now.

    That's awesome! One of my co-workers has done that. There was a colony of stray cats near her house so she worked to get as many of them spade and neutered as she could and helped place a bunch of them and has kept a few herself.
