What about all of the bands that tour the casino circuit?

Yeah, I always kind of assume that they are somewhat desperate (whether they really are or not is another story) just because there is always an air of desperation in casinos, lol.
Not as desperate as the county fair circuit.
There are some pretty big names that play the fair here... Like Heart, I would think they could get a decent crowd for one of the smaller arenas.
Heart played a county fair? :heartbreak:
Not a county fair, but Vancouver's PNE fair in August has a bunch of bigger but has been names playing: Sloan, The Beach Boys, Daughtry, Clint Black, Pat Benatar, Boyz II Men, Hall and Oates, Loverboy....

Did you go? How was it?
No I went to boot camp and possibly broke my hand instead haha
Oh no! That's not good.. How's it feeling today?
Feels better now than it did this morning, so I'm going to hold off on getting it checked out and just see if it sorts itself out

For those who were asking, boot camp here means an exercise group run by ex-military people. Basically an hour and a half of running, squats, lunges, push-ups, crunches, planks etc. Just started it recently and quite like it. It's tough going but very satisfying at the same time.

Basically, if you can flex your hand at all without excruciating pain (that would probably simply prevent you from flexing at all), it's probably not broken. But whoever said be careful is certainly right. If it is broken, or even if there are torn ligaments, and you don't treat it properly, you could end up with a disabled hand for life.

Yes, it is hard, isn't it? Ten years ago we left Ottawa, where we had been for 7 years. We left our daughter's first house (she was almost 5 when we left) and all the friends we had made to come back to the west coast. Good luck Nami - hope your move is for the best.

Just got home from fireworks with my kids. On the way there my son told me he's still a little scared of the fireworks (he's 7 1/2). I reassured him that it will be loud but we are far enough away that it's not dangerous. When we found our spot among the crowd and pulled up a piece of grass he had this worried look on his face. I asked him if he wanted to sit on my lap. He took a quick look around to see if anybody was paying attention and promptly set his cute little self right in my lap. he's my youngest. It occurred to me that this might be the last year I get to hold a little one during fireworks.

    I just bought this...

    http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=nonZ4_AyVy0

When I saw it at the store, I started thinking of all the fruit slushies I can make. Then I saw a bottle of carbonated cold brew coffee...and I thought of Ident. Slushie coffee...but better than iced coffee, no ice to water down the coffee because theicoffee is the ice.

I'm so excited about the possibility of a pj show in Central Park!! It's a quick train ride for me. My daughter will be almost 16 at the time and will go with me (assuming we both get tix). She's a real fan now as she's been hearing pj most of her childhood. I just can't wait to give her that experience of witnessing the music we all love and to share that with her! Please!!! Let this happen and let us both get tix! We've both become very active global citizens lol and believe it or not the articles we read yesterday sparked an amazingly insightful dinner conversation last night. She's my little political activist anyway. XXOO
