But before dawn on Tuesday, it was the owner of a building in Queens who used a crew of painters to work overnight and whitewash the graffiti on a warehouse in Long Island City...
In a last-ditch effort to stop the development, they were hoping to have the building designated as a landmark. That option is now likely gone as well.
The warehouse is scheduled for demolition by the end of the year.
So let's paint over the graffiti on a building that's been described as "iconic" and which has long been considered an unofficial landmark to everyone who's ever seen it from the 7 train or on the street. After all, it's gonna get torn down in a couple months! So of course it makes sense to paint it before we demolish it!! Because fuck logic! and fuck the landmarks and preservations committee they will never agree to turn this building into a landmark if it's been painted!

I've never been to phoenix, but since I've been to the grand canyon and flagstaff in northern Arizona, so I shouldn't forget. must be because Arizona is in pacific time during spring/summer when all the other states are on daylight savings time...that makes it so confusing :?

we're starting to paint our LR, hallway and office tomorrow - and i am SO EXCITED!
i LOVE home projects, and i love how relatively quickly, but amazingly, paint can change a room. i presently cannot afford any of the big changes i have in my dreams, so to change the paint, awesome! also - finally, finally - going to do what i've always wanted to do - and paint over the wood paneled wall/bookcase/mantle in our LR. that's a BIG job, one that i'll be doing solo next week, but again, so excited! i've hemmed and hawed for YEARS, as it's still in it's natural wood state, BUT i know paint will brighten and modernize it - so i am finally doing what i want.
