Johnny Guitar Hate?

This song is REALLY growing on me...like it more every time and I think it will be one great live jam...cannot wait to see it. I see they played it last night - will down a couple beers and see if I can find a vid link somewhere.

Simple put, Pearl Jam only gets better...I will watch the backSPACER haters backpedal in a year or so...man people are too quick to form an opinion - the album just came out two fukin days ago.

one cannot share an initial impression/opinion? i admit my opinions may and oftentimes do, change over time. that said, this is a discussion board for pj, so it makes sense, even 2 fucking days after it's release that we discuss our initial impressions.


i do not like johnny guitar, on many levels. i do like the music...but i really am none too fond of the lyrics or phrasings of the tune. will that change? perhaps. but that is how i think/feel, right now. personally, i doubt i will ever love the song, tho i definitely imagine it could be great fun live.

Of course - I agree and I wasn't patronizing those opinions of you or anyone else - - but, hate seems pretty strong for an initial impression...must say, the first time I listened to Johnny, I said wtf is this?..but after a half dozen more listens it has already changed for me

Watch the video of it live from last night. It's on YouTube and it may change a few of your minds. I really thought thissing would translate the worst live but TBH I think it sounds better than ANY of the other backspacer songs so far. The only thing bad was the completely random ending.

Johnny Guitar is one of my favourite songs on the album, bar none.

fuckin love it! probably my favorite lyrics on the album.

only bad thing about it is that it ends............should be about two minutes longer.

i just got the new cd today...an extra copy...still waiting on my 10 copy...i just couldnt wait any longer

anyhoo...first impressions of this song is that i dig of mostly cause im major sheep and um besides the song f'n rocks. dig the drumming and theres some real kewl funky geetar in dis song
