Since Easy Street was an independant store, this selling the same identitical version as the 10c, I ordered mine from Easy Street.
So what IS the difference between the 10c/independent edition and the deluxe one you can buy in Fopp/HMV? I am only now in the position to buy it, and will go with the 10c one if it's got anything the chain store edition doesn't (we don't have any independent record shops where I live, sadly) but if not, I would rather save $7 and the waiting time and head into town to buy a copy!

Well, the packaging of 10c version is different to that of mass retailers. I got a copy from HMV in Ireland, and it's cardboard with disc insert and booklet. I don't know what indie stores in the US are stocking.
10c version is similar to 10c Avocado - hard back, with cd slip attached to back and booklet attached to hardcover. The 10c downloads will not, as far as I can make out, be the 2008 boots, but something different. I think the cd directs you to that page because they haven't got the final version ready yet.
But, if you don't care about the concerts and the packaging is incidental to you, then I'd recommend walking around the corner and buying, rather than waiting on the 10c.

today though, i got a package from kufala. i ordered 2 pearl jam toronto '09 cd's. inside was just one. with the custom sheet on the bubble mailer only saying there's 1 cd inside the package, inside though, there was a bill for 2 discs!
my friends in europe & asia have already received them, and i haven't yet heard of any canadian receive any backspacer goods yet, from 10club. which ever mailing service provider 10club used to ship out backspacer stuff to canada, must be on vacation while all the packages are in his/her delievery van, relaxing by the tv, probably like our friend newman.
