Far too many times does he panic and completely abandon the run. That cost us two games this year and almost cost us one of the Washington games. I know he gets a lot of praise outside of Dallas but we are tired of his shtick here. I just think it is time for a change here. He can't find ways to effectively use the ground game. His worst offense is that the Cowboys never developed a short yardage game and couldn't score in the red zone. Too many drives killed when, after jamming it down throats, the cute play comes out and gets stuffed. Been going on for a couple of years now. Actually, I felt that game was over yesterday when Dallas drove to the 9 and then ran the Wildcat on 1st down. Go back to the Green Bay game and look at that. Anyway, time for a change on the offense and I don't think Wade really likes him anyway.

Yes time for a change, the only way I see that happening is if he gets an interview in Buffalo. This is Jerry's hand picked guy, he doesn't like to admit he screwed up. This is the biggest problem they have, then the O line.

The rest of your critique of the team is bang on, I thought I was only one who thought Barber's time in Dallas is up, I doubt he'll accept a lesser roll.

I do think they are closer being an elite team now than anytime in the last 12 years or so, lets just hope they correct the problems this off season.

Exactly. And Brooking didn't necessarily have a problem with stomping my squad last week and doing his Pee Wee Herman speeches before the game and then running around like a maniac when it was over. They were in their home stadium - just like the Cowboys the week before - getting caught up in it. Brooking's a bitch.

ESPN.com is reporting that B. Marshall is being targeted by the Cowboys. It is funny having an Eagles fan tell me that my hoping to get Marshall is video-gamish when the entire Eagles offense is built like a video game. The only way you score is hope for a big run, or run up the middle, get stopped, then throw bombs to Jackson and Maclin. The difference is that F. Jones, MB3, Choice, Witten, Bennett, Marshall, Austin, and Crayton would be much better than the group the Ealges throw out there.

As for anyone construing what I wrote as kill whitey, please read back carefully. All I said was that I wouldn't mind trading away Witten (he's good, but overrated) to get more help (I didn't mention this yesterday but a younger OL or as I did mention a stud WR like Marshall might be nice). Everyone said I was crazy and started pointing to his stats, to which I replied that many times white position players (especially non-QBs) get far more love than they actually earn b/c (predominantly) white fans and owners think that these extremely talented athletes have some sort of genetic disadvantage which is rooted in racist pseudo-science. Thus the fact that Witten is a TE that really only likes catching the ball and is a below-average blocker at best gets lost on fans and the media who claim he is a hard worker. What also gets lost is that he was the one stopped at the 2 instead of the 1 against the Seahawks, and that he couldn't get out of bounds against the Giants in our previous 2 playoff losses.

I then went on to say that Cowboys fans, who have a history of rooting for "hard working" white players like Bill Bates, "Moose" Johnston (who's name was not Deuce but Darryl), and Jason Witten well after their effectiveness faded are NOT ALONE. Virtually every fan base has a player or several players like this. Giants fans have their Shockey's, Boss's, and Seehorn's, the Eagles had a movie made about their "great white hope", and Washigton (well I mean this was the last team to integrate and their team is named the "Redskins" which is the equivalent of the N word) so....

In all, I wasn't suggesting that we need to "kill whitey", I was just suggesting you look at Witten with his several offsides penalties, past playoff failures, and ask yourself if it was TO being stopped at the 2 instead of the 1 or not getting out of bounds against the giants what you would have said? Some of you may have felt the same about TO others of you might have added that to his list of detriments, is it the same as Witten, why?

Finally, just because fan bases love their white non-QBs doesn't mean they don't root for minority athletes, it's just different. There is a lot of research that demonstrates how this works in all sports if you want me to pass it along.

Marshall would be a nice edition if you could put together a deal that includes Williams, but they can't keep giving away draft picks. The draft picks are needed to rebuild the O line.

I do agree with you on this one. The Oline has some strong suits (as we found out yesterday Flozell Adams might actually be good but I don't believe it still), especially Leonard Davis and Gurode, and Kosier in the middle. Where they are weak is on the outside. Free played very well during our hot streak, but then sat yesterday until Adams got hurt. He could replace Colombo on the outside right, and then (as with many teams) we'd need a stud LT. If we draft one, it's unlikely he'll be good right away, but then free agency means that it'll be 7-8 games before he's good just because he's getting used to the new team (see Jason Peters on the Eagles). Either way, this was easily the 'thinnest' part of the team...it would be nice to fix it.

Exactly. I HOPE TO GOD that freak owner trades away his first and second round draft picks until eternity. Good luck - go get Marshall. Smell ya...

Supposedly, Wade wants all the assistants to remain in tact as well. I was hoping that Garrett would have interviewed for a head coaching job because I am getting tired of him.

Wade deserves to stay because of what he has done with the defense and it is only going to get better.

they should have demoted wade to defensive coordinator and brought in a new head coach.

as an eagles fan, i'm happy with this move.

Like that would fly with any organization. I'm sure Wade would be real interested in taking orders from a new head coach.

They need to get a new off. coordinator. One that doesn't make as much money as the head coach and has to answer to the head coach. That is the Cowboys problem(and that apparently wasn't a problem with us having the #3 offense in the league). Other than that, we don't need any real changes. The Eagles, Giants and Skins need some changes to be able to compete with us next year.

Anyway, I am content with winning the division and beating the Birds THREE times in one season. A very successful season considering we were picked to finish third in the NFC East! Our defense is gonna be ridiculous next year!

It's too bad 'next year' is 8 months away...

you couldn't detect the sarcasm there huh?

either way, i'm happy he's still the coach.

(also---isn't dave campo your secondary coach or something? )

Yeah, go figure....maybe Chan Gailey would still be head coach if Jerry had the patient back then that he has with Wade ;)

Irvin accused of rape in civil suit
Michael Irvin has been accused of rape in a civil suit filed Thursday in Broward Circuit Court, the Miami Herald reported.

The suit, filed by a woman identified as "Jane Doe," accused Irvin, the former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver and Pro Football Hall of Fame member, of raping her at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla., in 2007, according to the report.

No criminal charges have been filed. The Broward State Attorney's Office has been investigating the case and a spokesman told the Herald he expects a conclusion next week.

Irvin, currently in South Florida for the Super Bowl, currently hosts a talk show on ESPN Radio 103.3 in Dallas and works as a television analyst for the NFL Network.

Irvin's lawyer, Larry Friedman, called the accusations "totally untrue," according to the Herald. Feldman, asked by the paper to describe the woman's contact with Irvin, said: "Beyond, perhaps, meeting her, there was nothing."

According to the suit, the woman claims the attack happened late on July 4 or early on July 5, 2007. It claims a Irvin bought the woman alcohol and took her to his hotel room, where Irvin raped her and another man forced her to perform oral sex. The other man is unidentified because, according to the woman's lawyer, David Lister, she doesn't know who he is.

The suit claims Irvin's brother, Derrick Irvin, "assisted in covering the sexual assault and rape up," according to the lawsuit.

Seminole police were informed of the alleged incident on July 20, 2007, Seminole Tribe spokesman Gary Bitner told the Herald.

"They investigated it thoroughly," Bitner said. "Although by that time there was no longer any forensic evidence or surveillance video." The paper said the woman signed a "waiver of prosecution," in what Bitner descibed as "her desire to essentially put it behind her and not have it be splashed all over the newspapers."

Both attorneys said settlement talks had taken place, but broke down. Friedman told the Herald the woman first asked for $1 million, then $800,000. Lister told the Herald that Irvin's lawyers asked for a settlement figure.

"This complaint is tantamount to criminal extortion," Friedman told the Herald. "There is no merit to the complaint."

Lister said the woman had passed a polygraph test and told the Herald: "There were discussions back and forth between the parties. Nothing came of it."

Irvin pleaded no contest to a cocaine charge in 1996
