I'd put a big ole Homer Simpson, D'OH image here, but I'm trying to comply. My mind got corrupted by thoughts of spinning a shiny white vinyl on the turntable. Great item.

    Hi Everyone,
For us long time fans but newer 10c members, what happens at your pre-parties? Never been to one but I'm really interested in stopping by to meet other great fans. Sounds like you really know what your doing with these things! Do you need a ticket? Are you drinking? That may be a dumb question. :D Is it just one big party/tailgate with a great atmosphere?

One reason I ask is my wife will be 6 months and will not be partying too hard before the show so I'll need some drinking buddies while keeping it cool with her. :D
I shit and I stink, I'm real, join the club.

We (husband, myself, two boys) will be at all four shows. It's not clear to me how kid-friendly this pre-party will be, but we are happy to stop by and purchase raffle tickets, etc. I don't really have any items to donate, but I will support these causes.

no ticket is required to join us. We will be somewhere in the middle of parking Lot F at the Spectrum where its an all ages event where fans are expected to behave themselves as the classy pearl jam fans that we are. Its a place to congregate and hang out prior to each concert, meet other fans, exchange pearl jam stories and experiences etc all while raising funds for 2 great causes as well as hopefully everyone going home that evening with a bunch of prizes from the raffles and auctions. Please do stop by and attend and do not feel worried in any means. we are all adults and just want to enjoy the excitement of the shows and will look out for each other while doing so. We will encourage anyone attending to keep things professional and adult-like if any beer consumption occurs within our area of the party. See you then!!

I agree that elwayvedder and petrocs are two of the most enthusiastic and dedicated organizers I have had the pleasure to work with. It is an awesome team and I look forward to stepping up to the high bar they have set with their professional efforts to make these extremely successful and profitable fundraisers before these unprecedented group of shows. Thanks for letting me be a part of the team and I look forward to meeting all of you there.

Thanks, elwayvedder for explaining that the preparties are for all ages and will be attended by responsible PJ fans because I am also bringing my kids (on different nights) and had concerns.

I'm not sure exactly what my work/school schedule is like yet, but I'd like to RSVP as possibly attending on the 28th and the 31st. Hope to meet some of you then!

i don't know if i'd call pre-parties kid friendly..i mean it is a party..there will be a lot of people drinking as well as other "stuff"....but most fans are cool civil people so you could bring your kid...but it ain't gonna be a sesame street show ya know...my daughters first PJ show was at the ripe old age of 13.

hey Elway...i never have done an official pre-party in a parking lot...is it a b.y.o.b. thing or will there be a beer stand of some sort?

I miss Petrocs ... but nice work EV!!! Hey, what is parking like at the venue? Can we intentionally park in your lot, or do the attendees steer traffic to certain lots in a particular order (luck of the draw)? Should we try to go early to get into lot F?

its BYOB just like any tailgate prior to a PJ show. Let's just BYOB in moderation so everyone enjoys themselves. After all, its a lot of time and $$ we are committing, so let's remember the show and not ruin it getting plastered outside. moderation is the key for everything...in this case, less will be more!

Depending on what time you get to the Spectrum, feel free to try to park in Lot F. We are going to get there early and set up in the middle somewhere of F. If Lot F is full by the time you arrive, all other parking lots are a football toss away from Lot F

Thanks EV and Crazy Breed. We assumed there would be people drinking and doing other 'stuff'. We addressed the "Um, Dad, it doesn't smell like tobacco that they are smoking!" matter last year, no problem. We don't expect anyone to modify his/her behavior just because we wander through with the kids.

Hey Dave! What time do you plan on arriving? I will be off from work on 28th & plan on getting there early that day to help as much as I can-will be later other nites & not there Tues  . AS for RSVPing-think it's official that I will be there from "get-go" 28th & hubby will be joining us as soon as he can after work. 30th will be myself & my 16 yr old daughter (why I'm hoping partying but not too wild!?) as soon as we can get there after work/school & then hubby & I again on Halloween hopefully no later than 4pm or so! This will probably be the wildest one too! At any rate-can't wait & if I ever need a professional fundraiser/organizer- you're hired!!! Miss ya Petrocs but look forward to meeting the "man behind the pics!"?

Exactly-just have to set a good moderate example to them but definitely worth sharing such an amazing show & kick-ass music w/them. Been bringing my daughter since she was 13 & love having a mutual love of PJ

Well, 13 seems to be the magic age, that is how old my son is. If I walk by the party and it seems like it would be more than I want to expose him to, I'd just keep walking, no big deal! :D

I never would expect people to change what they are doing just cuz I have my kid with me. And if I want to have fun then I'll stop by on a night he is not with me!!!

as for times, I am guessing I will get there around 2ish and start setting up. maybe earlier if i am full of anxiety and driving myself insane. probably look to start around 3-4 pm each day.

cindy, just email me as we get closer which shows i need to update the rsvp list for you. we will miss ya on the 27th if i understood correctly but cant wait to see ya on the 28th!

State of Mind, if you can, please stop by. My 13 yr old son, RidintheLedbetterRiff, will be there Fri & Sat helping and I'm sure he'd love to meet and talk to folks his age about PJ and their views on the old and new music. Many other 10cers said they were bringing kids too. IMO the preparties are about the PJ fans giving back to the community and sharing our PJ experiences rather than a college keg party and are no worse than the shows in my experience. Just my .02 but helps ease your valid concerns.
