You know The Real Me is a cover song and is not a new PJ song and won't be on the new CD?
The show last night was pretty good. I was a bit exhausted... I literally landed at O'Hare at 6:30 after an Alaskan cruise vacation (in the 2 days prior to the show I went from Alaska to Canada to Seattle to Chicago) and raced to the UC just in time for the start of the band's set.
All the cover songs were highlights, as was Alive and Rats. Long Road and Come Back were stellar as well. Got Some was slightly better than on Conan, but still not my thing. Didn't much care for Supersonic either. A few too many of those kinds of songs in the set, but whatcha gonna do? Overall, strong show, but didn't floor me the way some in the past have.
Im gonna be at the wishlist thing for a few hours today....I hope you are there...I wanna meet you.
And as far as last nights show goes??? From a personal point of view???
I was happier than a pig in shit!!!!
Im a HUGE WHO fan...I saw the who play live WAY BACK IN THE DAY!!!!
And the boys did kick ass versions of both songs....The Real Me especially!!!
Rats?? Had not seen that one live since 94
SMILE???? Any show that includes SMILE.....Is a DAMN GOOD show!!!!!!!
Spin The Black Circle??? Fuck Yeah!!!
Sad?? One of my all time favorites
One song off riot act??? ya cant beat that.....
Long Road opener??? FUCK YEAH!!!
Insignificance? Rearviewmirror?? Fuck Yeah!!!!
Needle and the Damage Done???? My girl LOVES Neil Young...SO BIG BONUS!!!!!
That show from last night INSTANTLY goes in to my personal top 5....Post edited by SPEEDY MCCREADY onTake me piece by piece.....

Some reasons behind the 10C tickets:
-- PJ gets a set amount of tickets allocated to them. They get a good chunk of the premium seats and the rest are spread out throughout the venue. The 10C isn't going to get every "good" seat in the house and then Ticketmaster sells what's left.
-- When this show went on sale, at the time it was the only US show... therefore you had a TON of people coming in from out of town. 4 of us drove out from Detroit, and my friend (whose number is 60xxx) was in the 5th row on the floor, which should give you some idea of how many low, low number people were there last night.0 -

Fair enough assestment...
However, I have an issue when I know many 10C members (who have been members for years) having seats in the upper rafters of the 300 level when people from a radio presale had much better seats. When the 10C advertises that they get their members the best seats to Pearl Jam concerts, it simply isn't the truth. That's my point.or you can come to terms and realize

additionally:
1. Chicago is a major market.
2. It was Sunday night.
3. There were a lot of friends/family.
EDIT: 4. forgot to mention that 2 major pro-teams play at the UC, so a lot of seats were probably season ticket holders as well.Post edited by given2fly23 onFound: Soundgarden Hyde Park DVD (Thank you for the gift!)

That was one of the better crowds I’ve seen at a stadium show. There was a strong showing from the 10C members which I figured would be the case since for all we knew this could have been their only show in the States when it was first announced. Like everyone else, my seats were pushed back but that didn’t matter because of the positive energy that was flowing through the building. I was very happy with the ebb and flow of the setlist and cannot complain one bit (it was high octane). The band was in very good spirits. It’s the most happy I’ve seen Ed since San Diego 2006.
It was the first PJ show for my brother and he was very impressed. Hopefully he is now a PJ convert!Be Excellent To Each OtherParty On, Dudes!0 -
Just a reminder that the Fanview threads are for the fanviews of the show. It's ok to start a different thread about tickets and seating.

A few bitches about last night.
- I'm glad I got my seats through a third party. The fact that there were 10c members since '02 sitting in 300 level is complete bullshit. The fact that any 10c member is upstairs is bullshit.
- Weak setlist, until the second encore.

Enjoyed the show last night and looking forward to tonight. Was very happy to be back up close after only seeing PJ at festivals the past couple of years. There were a ton of out of towners at the show last night.Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see0

I have not heard them perform Long Road in a while, but when Ed sings "how I wish for you today" he really went up high and loud on the "today". Is that standard or something he has been doing recently? I didn't think I would see a better performance of that song than Phoenix 2000, but I think they blew that one out of the water last night.0

What an incredible show!! I couldn't have asked for more - Spin the Black Circle, Rats, and Love Reign O'er Me were definitely my highlights. I was on the floor about 25 rows back and couldn't see much, but the energy around me was amazing. The people around me were from North Dakota, Ohio, and Boston - LOTS of out-of-towners at this show. Can't wait for tonight!!!!!
BTW - did anyone see the guy with the lit-up stickman shirt on the floor? INCREDIBLE SHOW!! I was front row, 300 level , and I won't complain about it ! Of course on the floor, up front would've been great! Went with other 10c friends and we all ended up in 300! So, be it. We didn't allow it to ruin what was an awesome show! Too many highlight s to point out while I'm work! Loved the setlist, the variety, the energy from both the crowd and the band! I've only been to ten PJ shows dating back to 1993 and one thing that has always stood out about PJ Live in my opinion, is that not a single note or one lyric ever seems FAKE, or as if Eddie or the band were going through the motions. Everythiing rocked and was full of emotion as I've come to expect. Jeff and Stone switching up instruments on SMile (?) was cool. McCready was again on FIRE (as always) !! Jeff fell down at one point and Stone must have been imitating him because suddenly he was rolling around on the floor playing and having a great time. We CHICAGOANS love it when EDDIE comes HOME!!!
Cant wait for tonight! I'll hope for better seats but regardless can't wait to see what's in store!
Thanks Pearl Jam

Awesome show last night. Ten club # 160XXX and I had Section 112, Row 15. At first I was shocked because I have always had floor seats through 10c. But when you consider the lottery adds 4 rows to your normal seat (in 2006 I was 20th row floor), and all the out-of-towners, I figured I would have been 24-30th row on floor. I prefered my seat last night compared to being 24-30 rows back. Anyways...
Here are my highlights:
Mike playing the Alive solo behind his head
Jeff and Stone swapping guitars for Smile
Real Me
Star Spangled Banner tag after YL
Got Some and Fixer are such great songs live
Chicago crowd was into all the songs
Hoping they play Alpine Valley next year.0 -
Wow. That was a wonderful time last night...from Moretti's to the 5 hr drive home, I was on a complete PJ high. Come Back was the highlight for me (& RVM...mainly because Ed always screws up the lyrics and it cracks me up.) Wish i could do it again tonight. Nice to meet some of you, as well.Be Kind, for everyone is fighting a hard battle0

DAMMIT!!! After reading others reviews I really want to love this show, but I just cant.
Dont get me wrong they blew the doors off with a few songs, Spin the black circle was awesome.
I feel like as soon as they started to pull me in they did there best to take me back out of it again.
Ive only been to four shows since 95 and the first song I had not heard was The Fixer. And then after that it was Insignificance. I kept waiting for some unplayed gems......Where was Hard to Imagine, Footsteps, Brother, Hail Hail, Satans Bed, Breath......
I certainly dont need TWO covers by the Who in my first encore. Love both songs but dont need them two songs apart.
Smile was great but all in all I kept waiting for the show to take off and it never did for me.
Not to mention I was in section 318 back to the wall as high as you can go in the UC. My 10Club number does suck I'll be the first to admit, but I can get on Ticketmaster right now and pull 200's for tonights show.0 -

i was 8 rows behind the soundboard, dead center - 311xxx ... cant complain at all... but its too bad for the people that didnt have great seats :(
i was half expecting to hit the lotto jackpot after all the bad luck i was having throughout the day before the concert... cant a brotha get a little karma??
cool that ed mentioned alpine! he said they wouldnt be back to chicago for awhile so now i have to cling to those alpine hopes even more0 -
The Needle and the Damage Done - would have loved to hear that one...0

My seats sucked, too. I am 196912 and I was in section 319. Yay, glad I joined the club. Meanwhile, I can buy 115 or 231 on Ticketmaster right now for tomorrow night.
