you'll be glad someday, that designated number will come in handy when people don't renew in time or cant' make a specific show. I would imagine the lower number of fan clubbers are from seattle and chicago (very generally speaking). I am in the 1st 75000 and got main floor. they can only do so much, with what they have. sometimes I get great seats and sometimes not. at the general admission shows it's standing room only.
really great show, I expect a hum-dinger tonight. traffic into the city was awful, sunday eve, rush hour. Long road was perfect after an hour of b to b traffic!!

I've seen PJ four times now, dating back to Lollapalooza 1992. This was definitely the best I've ever seen them and easily in the top ten or 20 concerts I've ever seen. Absolutely phenomenal. The energy from the band and the audience was incredible. Nothing but love in the building. I was in the 300s as well, but it really didn't matter. Sure, it would be great to be up front, but it was awesome how 99% of the people in the uppers were standing, dancing, singing along the whole time. Easily one of the best crowds I've ever witnessed in a large arena. The sound wasn't very good at first, but got a lot better after four or five songs. Out-freaking-standing set list. The joy, the absolute joy, of seeing a band that loves what they do, doing what they love. The two Who songs in the encore were testament to the fact that PJ was truly playing what they wanted. No way is this a band that goes through the motions or churns out the big hits to satisfy the masses. I was at the opening night of the 2006 shows at United Center and was a bit let down by the set list. Boy did last night make up for it. I just scooped a single ticket in 231 (row 3!) on Ticketmaster. I just have to see what they're going to pull off tonight. Can't wait!!!! I'm new to the boards, but say hello if you're in 231. And here's to round two!

Just got home. Combined with my 10Club seats being top row nose bleeds, my back was actually against the wall and the fact that PJ's catalogue is HUGE and these were the songs played I was actually disappointed. I was expecting more for Chicago.
Oh well.
What?!?!
What is your 10c #?
I have a shitty # and I have always been on the floor at the UC.
I think someone may have pulled a fast one on ya'!
My friend also ended up with 10c tickets in the nosebleed sections and although my seats were good, they weren't as good as my 10c tickets from two years ago. Not sure what was happening with the ticket allocations. It didn't put a damper on the night though. What a great show and glad to see Eddie acknowledge Michael Jackson the entertainer with a nice tribute song.
BTW - did anyone see the guy with the lit-up stickman shirt on the floor? It was outstanding!
He was in the seats right next to me. It was a pretty cool shirt. He never did say where or how he got it.
What an amazing show. Everything was spot on musically, EV had his usual lyrically fumbles, but hey, it wouldn't be a good PJ show without em. The highlight for me was McCready's solo on Alive behind his head (thought it was cool 'cause the guitar player in my cover band plays the solo to Ledbetter behind his head sometimes).
It was good to see them back in the Midwest again, it's been a long time coming (minus festivals).

Sick show last night, amazing energy. I can't imagine what they could do to top it, I just hope we can get some of the same energy from last night. Being a Chicago native I want to give props to all the out of towners who came in helped rock the UC last night especially our neighbors to the north, great people. Canadians don't mess around when it comes to partying, love it.
I've seen Pj about 17 times starting back to Lolla 92, and last night was one of their best shows by far. I put it up there with Soldier Field or Chicago Stadium. The energy was the key, and the band fed off it. Eddie was wearing shorts dancing around like it was 92. I laugh when I see some posts saying the show was ok, if you werent into that show last night then something is wrong with you.
The set list was great, and just wondering what they will do tonite. It really doesn't matter after a show like last night, they could open with Bugs and I'd be happy. I am feeling a leash or red mosquito, we shall see.
Had 300 level last night and got 100 level tonite, but really just happy to be in the building.

Long Road- The BEST live version I've ever heard live or on a boot. Ed's voice boomed with soul as he sung this classic song. He also added different notes on some of the words. Perfect opener.
Corduroy- High energy with lots of raw power from the guitars. Average version at best mainly bc Mike's solo was somewhat uninspired.
Why Go- Matt Cameron was ON his game on this great song. Great version.
God's Dice- Great song and played perfectly. Had me jumping up and down.
Dissident- A nice crowrd pleasure. Great singalong
Small Town- see above.
Sad- One of my favs and sung with high energy and emotion.
The Fixer- Nothing tops the Calgary version but it was short and tight.
Given To Fly- Fast, upbeat version. I loved it.
Come Back- Awesome song. I wish they played it more. Perfect version.
Even Flow- did its job. woke the crowd up from the previous song.
Save You- never a big fan of this song. sat thru it
In Hiding- the crowrd roared with this song and it had me belting out the chorus. great thing about the show was it seemed louder than previous so I had no problems singing along to some songs.
Man Of the Hour- brought me to tears. nice surprise
Insignficance- had me jumping around after the bridge. loud, fast, in your face.
Got Some- meh.
Spin the Black Circle-great ending for the main set. loud, punchy, HARDCORE version. super song.
Encore
Love Reign Over Me- I don't like when Ed sings this song bc I think it hurts his voice.
LIfe Wasted- cool version. better played than in '06
The Real Me- fantastic. couldn't get it out of my head.
Alive- rocked the house as per yoush
Encore
The Needle and the Damage Done- Never heard this song but really liked it. short and sweet while sad at the same time. played after a short talk about michael jackson
Rats- BEST version i've heard. BEN THE 2 of US NEED LOOK NO MORE! Buy the boot bc of this song
Supersonic- rocked ROCKED and it ROCKED. i hope it gets played regularly
Smile- knew it was coming when Ed introduced Stone at bass and Jeff working double-duty on guitar. I love this song.
RVM- melted my face off. high energy. this band seems to be ALIVE again!
Yesterday was my birthday and I was far from family so even though it wasn't for me, it was nice to hear happy birthday. I appreciated the 'Ben' to 'Rats' transition, clever. Overall I thought the setlist was solid. I love hearing Mike start Yl at the end. The crowd in my opinion was eh. Seemed to pick up as the night went on but in my section there was a fair number of people either sitting or looking like they were waiting for a bus. Not nearly the same energy as the MSG shows last summer when the garden was literally shaking. This show still was dominant and the guys once again bled for us all on stage. I hope anyone going tonight has a great time. Wish I could be there. See you at the Gibson in LA with hopefully better seats.
Great show of course. I had 10 club seats 6 rows from the top of the venue right at the side of the stage in the 300"s. I don't care. It's not great but with 8 million people in the Chicago area what do you expect? The band was much more lively that Toronto but a lot less soloing from Mike. (Toronto he really ripped it up all night) I hope he goes a bit more tonight.
songs I haven't seen - Rats, Supersonic, The Real Me, Needle and the Damage Done (great flawless guitar work by Ed on that one - not easy) and I LOVE smile.(Saw one in Hartford and it is killer live. The 2nd encore was spectacular. RVM was awesome.
What will they do tonight? They pulled out all the sentimental Chicago stuff last night.
It shall be wicked. Then my three show run will end and I will go back to the world of mortals.
The main problem is Pearl Jam provides and experience that is so unbelieveable that regular life seems a bit sub standard. But, as legend goes, you can't fly too close to the sun or your wings will burn off.
That is why there must be days, and even months with no Pearl Jam shows. (I guess)
but those days are NOT tonight!
Chicago night two in 6 hours!
I am also in the 10c and had nose bleed seats as well. So did everyone in my section. There were allot of pissed off people that got their 10c tickets when they went on sale and end up with nose bleeds, NOT COOL! Ticketmaster would have treated me better! I heard there were lower level seats still available but we got sent to the top of the building. This seating feasco and the selling out to Target is making my loyalty waign. PJ is in the process of selling out if they haven't done so already. I thought this day would come but it sucks that the time has come so soon. Oh well, 15 years of being a devoted fan down the drains... It was fun while it lasted
I know for a fact there were a ton of out-of-towners last night. I came from MI and had sec 111, row 19. Great seats right at half court. I kept drooling how I would have loved to watch Jordan from these seats. The people in front of us were from New Mexico and the couple beside me were from California. The people in front of me in the 10c line were in sec 305. I knew right then and there at 3:00 that there were going to be a ton of die hards at this show. The band/crowd made for a great show!
I was disappointed with the seats, section 313. The guy two seats down from me has ben a 10c member for 16yrs and he was pissed at how bad the seats were. I expected the seats to be much better.
I have no complaints over the set list or performance of the band. They put on an awesome show. I took my 16yr old son, it was is very first concert. He loved it. My concern is PJ set the bar too high for him, no one is going to top them live.
Just got home. Combined with my 10Club seats being top row nose bleeds, my back was actually against the wall and the fact that PJ's catalogue is HUGE and these were the songs played I was actually disappointed. I was expecting more for Chicago.
I have good luck with shows. This was a great show and people are crying about seats. Grand Rapids was a great show and the seats were an issue there for a different reason. I think sometimes people have to be thankful they were in the building and not be so selfish.
MY number is low os I wasn't expecting any good seats hoping ti get on the lottery...I was in sec 307 row five...The energy there was great..rats, in hiding, man of the hour great songs...evenflow and alive were great...mcready was on fire he really rocked. I really wanted to hear state of love and trust and some down but I got sad and smile instead....The whole show rocked...Eddie did a good job..It would be hard to get through all those songs without making some mistakes...I didn't know about the poster but I get in now...Can't wait for alpine valley. The hyatt was a agreat find fpr pj fans going to chicago. We went to pick up pur tickets at noon and it was really crowded but only took about a half an hour....Could have used some nothingman or black...Just being in that building last night was awesome...Pearl jam rocked out.
Just got home. Combined with my 10Club seats being top row nose bleeds, my back was actually against the wall and the fact that PJ's catalogue is HUGE and these were the songs played I was actually disappointed. I was expecting more for Chicago.
Oh well.
You had ten club seats and they were nose bleed? Even if you have only been in the club since 2007 you should have still been on the floor. I think you did something wrong.
Yeah. This is just flat-out bad info. I've been a member since 2003ish and I was in the 100 level. Go check touringfans.net. I think you needed to have a number in the low 200s for Floor seats. I'm not complaining though. My seats were great and the set list was everything I could hope for.
This is not bad info, these were the worst 10C seats I've ever had, been in since 2000, 3 years ago in the same building I was row 2 of the second floor section so in the middle of the floor. This year was corner view (sec 333) 10 rows from the top row!
The real kicker is my buddy who got in the 10C at the same time was one of the lucky little b*strds to get 2nd Row seats right in front of Stone. But any seat inside that building that night was a good one. What a freakin' kick ass set. The guys energy was amazing, they played passionately and after hearing about the recent death of a friend, I understood the setlist completely. My 13th show and 2 unheard PJ originals Rats and Sad(+ 3 off the new album), and TWO yes TWO The Who covers, and 2 that I haven't heard before? And a Neil Young cover I hadn't heard before, which just happens to be my favorite Neil Young song of all time?
I kinda wish I wasn't taking so much time off work to see them at ACL, because I know tonight's show is gonna be just as incredible, I just wouldn't get my hopes up on getting great seats this year no matter what your number.
BTW... If your last name is between K-M, I hope you get to the show early, obviously 90% of the 10C is in that range. That will-call line was 1/4 the way around the building when there were no other people in other lines and they wouldn't let us use any other window.
KEEP IT UP GUYS, I HOPE YOU YOU ROCK ACL LIKE YOU ROCKED LOLLAPALOOZA IN '07!
Drove up from St Louis and was absolutely shocked that my seats were 301 row 11. I was a member back in about 94, but unfortunately let it lapse for a few years there around y2k. I just renewed the membership in about 2007 but did not retain any senority. That is understandable otherwise people would just do it right before a show.
*** I assume the problem with the tickets were the sheer number of out of towners that came. I met so many people from out of town. And when this presale went down, there weren't hardly any other shows to go to. I imagine the numerous east coasters I met would rather have gone to one of the 4 Philly shows.
Anyway, it was my wifes forst show, so she got nosebleeds and didn't know half the songs. I enjoyed the setlist. Long Road and Come Back were amazing as far as the slow ones go. It is hard to get a ton of energy up there in the nosebleeds. I kinda fell like I was Rocking harder than most. One other complaint, I really wanted a Tshirt, got there right about 7:30 went to two stands and they were sold out of XL's. The Large's are not really large more like Medium before even shrinking in the wash.. Why not have plenty of XL's, do they really need so many small's, and Mediums.
Don't want to complain about everything though. I had an awesome time, thought they sounded great and enjoyed the setlist.
Lolla 92, St Louis 94, New Orleans 95, St Louis 98, Missoula 98, St Louis 2000, St Louis 2003, St Louis 2004, Chicago 2009
Sounds like a great show, and I wish I could have been there.
Re: all the complaining about the seats: Looking at touringfans.net, there were a ton of 10C folks at this show (close to 6,000 by the site's estimate). Seems like everyone with numbers below 150xxx had excellent seats, albeit not as good as shows with less demand (it's been said before, but this show was announced before the US tour, so a lot more out-of-towners than usual). From what I can see, everyone below 300xxx were either on the floor or the lower level.
Kind of like Las Vegas, where my seats were the furthest from the stage 10C has put me.
The announcement did say "Newer members should not expect prime seat locations," but I understand being pissed about being in the 300s. Nevertheless, I think it has to do with the high demand for the shows.
Maybe the folks at touringfans can keep the stats up for past tours to give everyone a better idea where to expect to be seated.
Hope everyone there tonight has a great time. Can't wait for LA.
Jim

I've been to pretty much every PJ show in Chicago since Chicago 2000, and this one definitely had the most energy, both from the crowd and band.
for real? i think that thread about lame chicago crowds had a point... its sad when you can pick out the lottery rows on the floor from across the building because theyre the only ones moving ("dont tell me how to enjoy the concert", right? :P )
it was especially noticeable when they busted into "sad" and there was basically an eerie silence... the only strong crowd points were the usual scipted parts like yelling "fuck" really loud at the right parts and "hellooooo" in EWBTCIAST... nice ovation and energy for ledbetter... overall... not impressed chicago
This was my first show and it was amazing the energy the band and crowd both had. I heard a lot of complaints about the 10C tix. I went to this show knowing that my 10C tix would not be that great because I just joined this past April but that did not matter to me as long as I was in the building!!!
Long Road opener raised the hair on my neck. I was hoping for "Release" but this was even better to me now looking back. "Rats" OMG I came unglued never expected to hear that at my first show!! "Spin the Black Circle" was a real gem as well another I did not expect to hear but loved it. I want to say thanks to the 10C and the band for one of the best nights in my life.

Very happy about the fact that I was at this show. My wife joined me for her first Pearl Jam show and although she is not a big fan she was impressed. I am a high number fan and therefore was in the upper deck but that was to be expected. As long as I was in the building I was happy. Great City, Great Show, and Great Company this show rocked.

Great show, got a pick from Mike!!!!!!!!!!!
The new tunes sounded really good, especially Got Some. First time hearing supersonic (just spun the single today when I got home)
I have no complaints over the set list or performance of the band. They put on an awesome show. I took my 16yr old son, it was is very first concert. He loved it. My concern is PJ set the bar too high for him, no one is going to top them live.
Can't wait for LA.

it was especially noticeable when they busted into "sad" and there was basically an eerie silence... the only strong crowd points were the usual scipted parts like yelling "fuck" really loud at the right parts and "hellooooo" in EWBTCIAST... nice ovation and energy for ledbetter... overall... not impressed chicago
didnt ruin the show for me though

Long Road opener raised the hair on my neck. I was hoping for "Release" but this was even better to me now looking back. "Rats" OMG I came unglued never expected to hear that at my first show!! "Spin the Black Circle" was a real gem as well another I did not expect to hear but loved it. I want to say thanks to the 10C and the band for one of the best nights in my life.
