Show started w/ Eddie saying something along the lines of "We got a lot of emotion to get through tonight".

With the opener of "Long Road" and "Man of the Hour" and Jeff's speech about a friend who has seen them for 20 years straight but couldn't see them tonight, and having us sing "Happy Bday" I wonder if there was a death of a friend.

Maybe since they pretty well blew their load tonight, we'll get an unheard one tomorrow.

An amazing set. I dunno what Evenflow and Alive have been like, but there were some fanfuckingtastic guitar solos

Lotsa songs to mark off the heard list. 12 new ones on my 7th show, not bad.

the poster tonight was done by Jeff, and I heard the basketball player in the poster was designed to be his friend, Mike, who had recently passed away. I'm not sure how true it is, but it makes sense with some of the song choices - especially Come Back after Happy Birthday.

Holy shit that was awesome!!! Tons of energy from the band and the crowd. Cant wait for tomorrow night!

Wow, looks like a great set!

Wish I could have been there! :( :)
  • Just got home. Combined with my 10Club seats being top row nose bleeds, my back was actually against the wall and the fact that PJ's catalogue is HUGE and these were the songs played I was actually disappointed. I was expecting more for Chicago.

    Oh well.
  • Cool set list with lots of unexpected twists (Jacksons/Supersonic). First time seeing Reign O'er me live and it's even better than on the '45. I loved the new stuff live. What's up for tomorrow night?

The first thing I'd say is that Chicago always gets very nice, solid shows. We almost never get the crazy rare stuff, but always get a nice long show.

Tonight was no different - we got 27 songs and although to be honest they only went about 5 minutes over curfew (I can't remember leaving the UC before 11:15 before - today was like 11:05), it was an amazing show.

Long Road, God's Dice, Sad, In Hiding, Reign Over Me, Real Me, Smile... that's a bunch of very nice stuff inside that setlist.

And I know that tomorrow is going to have a much different feel - really hoping they bust out some crazy stuff for us.

Great show - tons of energy and they sounded really tight although Ed had a number of lyric fumbles. But to be honest that adds to the fun for me anyway.

    On to tomorrow......

    What?!?!

    What is your 10c #?

I have a shitty # and I have always been on the floor at the UC.

I think someone may have pulled a fast one on ya'!

Bought a seat behind the stage this afternoon at 1:30 PM on TM. Couldnt have been happier with the show. Im going tomorrow with my 10c tix, but this night was absolutely awesome. Set was great, crowd was fun, and I loved my seat. The sound quality was a little off because im on the side of the stage, but good view of crowd and band. Cant wait for tomorrow night!

I just got back, and I can't wait for tomorrow's show! While my 10c seats were horrible (section 318, with my back against the wall in the last row), the sound was fantastic. I couldn't believe when I heard the opening note to Long Road- I've waited SO long to hear that song live. Their energy was incredible. Love Reign O'er Me, In Hiding, Come Back, Smile... what a great setlist. One of the best ones I've heard. See you all tomorrow night! Hopefully more 10c members will have good seats. I heard people talking about having seats in section 115 who got them from Ticketmaster at 10:55am this a.m. Hopefully those bastards get the bad seats tomorrow and 10c members get better ones than today. Either way, if tonight's show was any indication, tomorrow will be phenomenal.

Edit- forgot to add... Ed mentioned that they wanted to play ALPINE instead of UC!!!

You had ten club seats and they were nose bleed? Even if you have only been in the club since 2007 you should have still been on the floor. I think you did something wrong.

I was also in nosebleed, and me and everyone around me were all 10c members.

Yeah. This is just flat-out bad info. I've been a member since 2003ish and I was in the 100 level. Go check touringfans.net. I think you needed to have a number in the low 200s for Floor seats. I'm not complaining though. My seats were great and the set list was everything I could hope for.
  • Trully amazing! 10c 300 level. Doesnt matter. Sad, Smile, Rats, In Hiding. Wow. Yes. Tomorrow.
  • It was nice to finally meet u laura and yes nose bleeds were 10 club seats. I could have got better on ticketbastard or from craigslist. dont wanna bitch awesome show but what the fuck is a fan club tix for if we rule the nose bleeds. anyways great show as always just not sure how the fan club ended up in the worst seats of the whole house.

Great show. Long road was all I really needed, but Needle and the Damage done was special leading into Rats.

My seats sucked, too. I am 196912 and I was in section 319. Yay, glad I joined the club. Meanwhile, I can buy 115 or 231 on Ticketmaster right now for tomorrow night.

Solid set, nothing really stood out to tell u the truth...possibly the real me. Not a fan of the backspacer songs but got some kicked ass. I think there was a ticket issue tonight. Lots of ten clubbers in the 300s. I went with a 169000'r and was sitting with mid 200s :/ had a good time tho and hope tomorrow has some special things in store!

fantastic show. the crowd was good, my seats were a little farther than normal but nothing crazy. people in the 300s must just be high numbers.

so happy to finally hear smile after so many shows!

  • i was in section 202..wasnt too bad. it was in the club section, i was hoping to be in the section directly to the side of the floor. but i am by no means complaining, was a great show.

show had a lot of energy, i was hoping for long road or release, and i got long road! awesome! Then straight energy for a good bit. LOVED gods dice. Man, that song is sweet. Was very surprised to see them play it, actually. I thought the Fixer, Got some, and Supersonic were all very good. I was actually a little surprised at how good Supersonic was after seeing the vid on youtube, so i think everyone else has something to look forward to. Ed played Supersonic due to a request from the crowd, so I am not sure what he crossed out - if he did? Maybe we can get a view of the setlist from somebody. I would say that Rats, Gods Dice, and IN HIDING were highlights for me. In hiding was an AWESOME surprise. I mean, that song is great. I was really thinking 3rd encore for sure after RVM, and was hoping for baba in RITFW or YL. Can't get everything you want though! overall, really great show. This was my 2nd show ever and my first was Columbia last year - which i thought was a fantastic setlist. This one is right up there as well.

In my opinion, Ed sounded awesome tonight. I mean really great. He really did well on God's Dice, where he usually misses the "Designaaaaate" part after the HA HA!! I just loved every second of it. This band is awesome, and I will carry a happy hangover for months now. Just so amazing...i will probably think of some more little details and post later. Thanks for reading and enjoy it tomorrow guys!!

I think a lot of us are forgetting that this was at the time the tickets were sold, it was the only North American show for the year. Lots and lots and lots and lots of 10c members bought tickets for this show. For good seats, you needed a very low number.

bought two tickets section 114, 3:05pm on Ticketmaster, then bought two in 114 for Monday night released at about 4:15pm. so thrilled i didn't order through 10c with my 400xxx number. day of show usually pays off but man it can give you a heart attack!

something is wrong I guess, I have a bit higher of a number, and I was in the 100's 2nd section from the stage.

I joined in January and I was section 311.....Everybody around me was 10c.

I was pretty sure I would be on the 100 level, maybe 200s.... I know there were alot, but were there THAT many 10c members? I'm no way complaining... If the number of 10clubbers is consistent with the craposity of my ticket

In 2006 I was in the 35-40th row on the floor. I wish I could trade in my 319 nosebleeds for section 115 which is still on sale.
