(not comparing my ticket seniority to slavery, just the idea that rules should never change is pretty silly).
anyway, i'm done being a debbie downer - i'm headed to chicago in three days to see the best rock band in the world. i won't have the best possible seats (unless i hit that front row lotto PLEASE), but i'll have good ones.
your argument is moronic because the 10c HAS changed rules and adjusted over the years. If nothing is everything, I'll have it all0 -
Get_Right wrote:csickels wrote:PureandEasy wrote:You let your membership expire for over a year and you want your seniority back?
I think that pretty much says you haven't been an active part of what the band is up to for over a year, and that to me indicates you've lost interest, therefore, you lose seniority.
you would be 100% wrong. i am a married guy with 2 kids and a demanding job. and a few interests outside of pearl jam. the ONLY band i bother to keep tabs on is PJ in terms of traveling to shows, buying merchandise, etc.. I don't want "my seniority back", i just want what i paid for and accumulated.
ok so your number is 127XXX, but you only paid for two years.
how exactly is the 10c supposed to administer one level of seniority over another person with a similar number that had renewed every year?
The current system works fine. Put your renewal date on your cell, blackberry, outlook calendar, two months early, like I do, since I am also a very very busy man.
fair enough, i envy your organization. it would be easy for the 10c to track it (it doesn't HAVE to be based on the member number). thanks for the reply, we'll just have to disagree on this one.0 -
I got pulled over for an expired auto registration sticker. I told the police officer I was only 13 months late renewing. He said tough shit and gave me a ticket anyway.
I don't think it's fair, because I just forgot to renew. They sent me a notice that it was due, but I still didn't renew because I have a wife and a kid and other interests outside of driving my car. It was an honest mistake, and I had remembered for several years before that. I should have got credit for that. Instead, the cop just wrote me a ticket. What a penis!everybody wants the most they can possibly get
for the least they could possibly do0 -
The 10C would have to be constantly reassigning membership numbers if this happened.
That's a lot of hassle to undertake for the few that don't follow the system. I mean, if you have a hard time keeping track of your own membership to let it lapse for 1 year...imagine trying to keep track of all the them in the 10C and what order they should be in. Crazy.hippiemom = goodness0 -

i am not the one who brought up the "rules never changing" thing. i didn't say they haven't - somebody else did.0 -

you think somebody is sitting in a back room with a ledger book and a calendar keeping track of this stuff? it wouldn't be hard at all. I'm not an IT person, and i could design an efficient database to do this without much hassle at all.
there is life beyond your membership number.0 -

truthfully, I am not that organized, but I do have to keep track of important dates like my wifes birthday, or I totally forget.
But I do agree, it would be nice if they sent you a reminder 30 days prior or something like that.0 -

obviously, there is a big difference between a membership in a fan club and following traffic laws. but funny attempt, nonetheless.0 -

there is life beyond your membership number.
Then you should be able to design a database or some type of alarm which would alert you that your 10C membership is about to expire....This is your notice that there is a problem with your signature. Please remove it.

So how would I get the 2 years from 94-95 added onto my present account? do they still even have those membership records...I used a different address back then and I didnt give them an email. All they have to link to my present account is my name. It seems like a huge hassle. 10club has a policy that you agree to when you sign up, dont come on here bitching for change when it doesnt work in your favor.0

I was actually in the Mookie Blaylock fan club. Hell, I was in the Mother Love Bone fan club. In fact, I founded it. I don't have any proof. You'll just have to take my word for it.
Now where are my front row seats?everybody wants the most they can possibly get

just starting a debate man, like i said before, it's not the end of the world, but shouldn't every business and organization strive to serve its clients as well as possible? now, we may vary on what that entails - but it's not debateable that 10c should serve us to the best of their ability.
i realized this happened months ago, and i'm over it - i can't wait for this weekend and i'll be happy even if i'm sitting in the rafters. but i think this was a valid point (and the fact that several posters agreed does validate it to a degree).0 -

hahah the number of people calling 10club to dispute their "service time" would be crazy.0 -

you seem to be more upset about me posting this than I am about the issue about which i posted.
honestly, go back and read my first post - i realize it's on me, and i'm not suggesting that 10c should change just to suit my situation. i fucked up, and now i'll pay for it in the form of shittier seats. i'm okay with that.0 -

First - Let me just start by saying that I TRULY empathize with your situation. You're obviously a fan and it stinks losing all of your seniority....
However; I get TIRED of people in all facets of life using the excuse "I don't have time." Its a cop out. You are telling me that you couldn't find 30 SECONDS to log on and check or renew for 15 months?????? PLEASE
BS
We're all busy. You can find 30 seconds. You just didn't. Accept responsibility.0 -
