Ha ha, I saw you! Dont worry, us girlies were all doing the same (we just didnt end up the big screens!) I think I fall in love with that man even more every time I see him.

I feel like I've been hit by a truck today! My neck is killing, think I got some serious wip lash 3rd song in!
Underneath this smile lies everything........... all my hopes, anger, pride and shame
  • Sounds like it was an awesome show! Would have loved to have been able to see it but had to choose between Manchester and O2....

I thought the setlist for Manchester was as near perfect as you could get, but the setlist for the O2 was pretty damn close! Better Man, Porch, Animal, Yellow Ledbetter OMG

The lucky ones who got to see both thoses shows I'm so jealous!!!! What an amazing two days that must have been, I'm not even going to torment myself by imagining what it must have been like to have got to the SBE too!!

Nothing much to add that hasn't been well said here already, it truly was awesome and Mike was absolutely on fire - can't wait to hear his Even Flow solo again, as well as Immortality and Alive.
Surprised there were so many guitar problems - both Manc and London had guitars missing/breaking at some point - did they only bring enough over for one each?!
Ed talking about their friend that had passed away before Light Years started made it resonate even more. Rats was a great surprise, Supersonic sounded cool though I think it needs to be heard on record to fully digest it! Got Some didn't have a restart - result!
    A must-get boot!

So Ed says they won't be back for a while? I will not be repeating the mistakes of my "youth" and letting the mere matter of a few thousand miles and a couple of oceans stop me from seeing this band. If they are not coming here then I'm sure as hell going wherever they are. You can't put a price on feeling this good the day after a gig - and for me there is only one band in the world that can do that. Thank you PJ for doing what you do - you make my world a happy place!

Quoting that for truth! I'm with you there!

  • Well back home now.

Great, great couple of days. What an amazing main set. Did I prefer Manchester? Hmm not sure yet.

Had 10c seats this time. I had a whale of a time but sitting made me realise that the front is where it has to be. No matter what the cost/ lack of sleep!!

Loved release, rats, love' riegn o' me, animal, footsteps, black was brilliant again (doo-doo-do-de-doo de doo).

So glad that some people got to the front that really deserved it.

Now to stave off the post PJ blues.
i had it all once i gave it back

can you all feel the light.........shinin'

    well, a year's a long time to wait... ;)

or look at it another way, how many times at the end of a show has Ed said something like 'see you again soon' and then it's been ages until they went back...? he could be lying, or just saying the first thing that popped into his head.

think i prefer to think of it that way, rather than that he was telling the truth! 8-)
Oh yeah? Well, I've had about enough of morons and halfwits, dolts, dunces, dullards and dumbbells - and you chowderhead yokel, you blithering hayseed, you - you've had enough of me?
  • Also, down for after ledbetter was L.W?

    Little Wing?

Ya, would have been great to hear it! It was down as L.W? on the setlist, with the o2 staff having put life wasted beside it in biro which I told them was already on the setlist!! Should have thought of little wing!
  • Nothing much to add that hasn't already been said, except to say that no work is getting done here this afternoon. I think I left my mind three or so rows from the front of the O2. Great venue (which surprised me), great sound and an awe-inspiring set from the best band in the world. They were so on the money last night. Seeing them open with Release was my dream come true, and the energy in the room at that point was overwhelming, but even more amazing was the fact they were able to maintain that level of intensity throughout a 2.5 hour set. Footsteps, a jaw-dropping Black, Rats, I Got Shit, Light Years, another newie in Supersonic to go with The End from last week... I'm feeling spoilt rotten by this band right now. Don't leave it too long, fellas.

I'll sign off with four more words: Better. Than. Shepherds. Bush.
If I knew where it was, I would take you there...

    Still in shock

Manchester was a great set but O2 was better in all regards, band, crowd, set all phenomenal... truly memorable. It only needs 3 words:

    We Were There....

    Astoria, Dublin, Reading 06
    Katowice, Wembley 07
    SBE, Manchester, O2 09

    Manchester 1&2 12

I remember when the press loved to slag off the boys. Now another good review.
Mind you if you witnessed last night and slated it you'd have to be a knob.

....was just going to paste that review.

10C is worth every penny. Great seats. Great atmosphere and the "three steps back" was an amazing moment.

    Release - thank you.

Looks like a holiday in the states next year.

Finally home after an amazing few days. Set list could not have been better for me. Loved every second.

Thanks to Sian of the Dead, what a truely wonderful person you are. Loved meeting all of you at the Dacklands, 5am was late though :D:D:D

Cant wait for the next time. Love to all of us, Pearl Jam fans are the greatest fans.

We're just back :D What an amazing 30 odd hours!

Fantastic set, awesome vibe, great energy. The boys were on top form and the fans were too. We met some great people, and some old friends.

We love you all. Thankyou for making it so memorable!

You know, by my count (so it could be waaaaay wrong ;) ) having seen Manchester and London i reckon we got 47 different songs with only 7 repeats... that's just fecking incredible! :D:D

and there's another 10 different ones if you include SBE...

    man, do i feel lucky!

  • Just back from London after witnessing my first and probably best ever Pearl Jam gig! I have never seen them before since following them from the release of Ten and the only other time I did have a ticket was three years ago for the Dublin show and had to give the ticket up as it clashed with my impending stag weekend in Barcelona. I was ragging about that one!!

Anyway, the show was great. Fantastic set list. You could not have asked for better, especially songs from Vs and Vitalogy (two albums which I really think are not rated highly enough).

The O2 was really huge and I expected it to be a typical souless arena gig but how wrong was I because the fans in the seats were standing the whole time.

Highlight of the night for me was the last encore, Yellow Ledbetter when then lights came on and you could see the whole arena singing with grins wide of their faces. Absoultely fantastic!

Eddie was in great form and so too were the rest of the band.

My first PJ gig and hopefully not the last!

How you feeling today? Heard a rumour you weren't feeling too good yesterday ;)

  • I've just uploaded "Supersonic" onto youtube if anyone wants to hear it. Pretty good sound quality but the footage is a bit crap as I stood next to sound booth. Awesome show last night but Berlin wins 'cos of the location and the festival atmosphere.
    Cheers!
