Gonna sit back and relax with a pizza and beer here shortly... it's been a long week...
Saw the opening night of DMB's tour here in Houston last night... 2 hour, 30 minute set on opening night of the tour... very impressed... lots of fun. makes me wish my favorite band would play a couple of shows here for me.... :fp:
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.

Well, if tour rumors are correct then no Louisville AGAIN. Hard not to get down when you keep get skipped over :( Especially if said rumors are true and there is nothing within reasonable driving distance, double bummer :(
Are we getting something out of this all-encompassing trip?
Seems my preconceptions are what should have been burned...
I've been seeing a lot of this type of butterfly lately. ( Although I didn't take this picture.)
Gotta love spring time in Florida

beer last night was a brooklyn brewery silver anniversary doppelbock, followed by a couple of homebrews (my smoked porter and a friend of mine's tripel). the brooklyn brewery selection was very sweet and malty... almost sticky on the palate... it was definitely meant to be aged for a while, not drank quite so fresh.... although i don't think i enjoyed it enough to buy another and put it in my cellar... the homebrews on the other hand were quite good...
pizza was from a local joint here in houston called candelari's http://candelaris.com/. it's an authentic italian place here in houston that's gotten popular enough to have a couple of locations. it's become our go-to pizza place... a little pricey for za, but awesome none the less... believe it or not i had their "wrigely" pizza last night... it is awesome.

Some of the bands coming to Houston this summer (and this is a fraction of the total list):
Dave Matthews Band
Soundgarden
Guns' N Roses
Fleetwood Mac
Peter Frampton
Mumford & Sons
Robert Plant
Cheap Trick
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Kid Rock
Black Sabbath
The Monkees
Heart
Ted Nugent
Alice In Chains
Jane's Addiction
Mudhoney (in September)
I skipped over lots of stuff, namely the barrage of rap and country that comes through here. But the point is, all the big names come here - probably because it's the 4th biggest city in the U.S. So why can't Pearl Jam play here???

I bet Houston and Dallas both get shows. Austin won't surprise me, but I doubt both austin and SA get shows considering they are so close.
