I think it's retarded that instead of touring the US on their 20th anniversary year, they have instead elected to avoid it at all costs... it's a bit ridiculous if you ask me....
Why not give a full blown tour to the people who originally made you rich and famous?
It's not like you're saving any carbon emissions driving right on past us on your way to Canada or SA...
But anyway...Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.0 -
Congrats to the Central & South American fans. They waited 6 long years.
But I agree w/ shep. What's wrong w/ touring in USAmerica for your 20th ann'y?
This is horseshit, Pearl Jam. Plain & simple.

I'm very happy for those in the Southern Hemisphere, because I would have cringed if I had read Boston, NYC, Philly, etc.0 -
Happy for them!
Sad for us!0 -

At least you guys are closer to South America than the people in the Northeast.Member 164xxx

It's awfully tempting I know... I hear they have plenty of adjoining rooms available in brazil...its just gish wrote:rhinomagic wrote:Congrats to the Central & South American fans. They waited 6 long years.

I agree with you there, but I'm willing to bet you'll be "cringing" before the month of August is over. I have a feeling that the northeast announcement is imminent...Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.0 -

South gets shafted again. Maybe next year...PLAY THE SOUTH0
-
Shocking  Looks like we're well on our way to 9 years waiting in the majority of the south again. Fuck it, I'm done with this for a while. Gotta step away and stop getting my hopes up just to be let down again. I need to do something more productive with my summer anyway. Shep, we'll be rocking Def Leppard in just a couple of weeks! I feel for the southern part of the US for this but at this point I think it's pretty obvious the band has no intentions of touring there anytime soon if not ever.Post edited by DS1119 on0

Not upset about it, just like I wasn't upset about Canada. We knew well in advance these were coming and weren't going to include any kind of US dates.
Regardless, I am thinking PJ20 may be my last hurrah. I am very very grateful I got tickets and travel arranged and will have the best time. After that, starting not to care anymore.DAL-7/5/98,10/17/00,6/9/03,11/15/13

I am organizing a protest by Southern USA fans. I think a mass exit from the fan club will induce the band to tour the south. Here is my idea:
Any fan club member with a number less than 165xxx (just picking a number out of thin air, no clue how I came up with this number) should let their membership lapse, especially members that travel to shows up north. I think this is a wonderful idea, and maybe some other non-south fans with fan club numbers under 165xxx should do the same in solidarity.0 -

PJ20 will be a blast - wish I could make it. It's sad to feel like I may have already had my last hurrah. Oh well, if they show up down here in the future, great. If not, I can't sit around worrying about it anymore. Like you said, starting not to care anymore. I need to find better things to worry about anyway. Congrats to those in South and Central America and to those who can make the trips. Ok, now I'm out. I'm starting to be apathetic about it all. I just wish they could give us a reason, rather than continuously skipping an entire region. After PJ20, I think I'm done.0 -

If it is any consolation, I'm really wanting to go to a show deep in the heart of Texas.___________________________________________
