Isn’t American just as fake as wiz? I honestly don’t know.

But either way, I think the reason that they are the 2 most popular choices is because they coat the steak and make everything in the sandwich combine as one. Prov tastes great, but it leaves a lot of the meat out to dry (pun intended).
Yes on both accounts. This man knows.

I don't agree....american cheese can't sit in your pantry for six months prior to being used

Oh, yeah, forgot my wife told me about this this morning. I don't think it was even a month since some dude shot another guy over sports at Geno's. Its nearly always outsiders here for dumb dumb sportzzzzz. So stupid and senseless.

Good point. But still, I’m not going to criticize someone for getting wiz when I get American. They’re both not real cheese and work well on a cheesesteak because of their melty quality that is a result of being artificial.

And yes, it is weird that Velveeta isn’t more common. I’d have to guess that it’s been tried many times and just doesn’t work for some reason.

Maybe with the right combination of toppings or sauce it could be a home run idea 🤔.

You can cover all the meat with mozzarella or a combo of mozz and provy, but lot of places don't offer that. American is alright I guess. Whiz is completely gross and fake and unconnected to the traditional cheesesteak - I'll die on this hill.

The combo of the 2 sounds like a great idea. But mozz on its own doesn’t have enough flavor to make itself known in a cheesesteak.

How about bleu cheese?  It works on actual steak, so why not a cheesesteak?  LOL

Mozzarella is the answer on chicken parm, meatball parm. Not on a cheesesteak.

Blue cheese can be used on a buffalo chicken cheesesteak sure. But a cheesesteak ain't a steak.

    Thems the rules.

Midwesterner chiming in. When I lived in Philly, I always thought Pat's was better. I think it had Cheese Whiz on it and that sealed the deal for me. Now I'm stuck with O'Charley's at the mall and it isn't the same.

Hahaha. O’Charley’s is the new Sbarro I think.  Damn I didn’t realize they were everywhere.

What’s up with all these murders at Pats this summer?  Just saw one happened again last night.

Someone had a good point in helping catching these idiots when this shit happens - since Pat's/Geno's/Cheesesteak Vegas doesn't want to hire security (which I totally get) - they should take credit cards so it'd be easier to follow a paper trail.

Anyway, sports and nonlocals is "what's up with all these murders".

The fight and ensuing brutal murder involved the aftermath of a soccer match which involved, let's say, an international club (teams are called clubs in soccer), and some, um, gentlemen who lived in, let's just say, a rather large city to the north of Philadelphia who supported such international club. These gentlemen apparently were sore winners.

People, this is the best sandwich I have had in a long time

This spot (I know we’ve discussed the friz Wit)

    https://frizwit.square.site/s/order

Very excited to get the spicy cheesesteak. Was talking with them and they said it is spicy spicy, made with fresh Carolina reapers they grow. Working on using a chili paste out of it for future iterations.

This is the sandwich I got. Be warned, all of the ingredients listed are in there. Absolutely delicious
