Absolutely amazing! Got to agree with whoever said The Fixer kicked ass live, seemed to go down better than Got Some (which was still great). Ed seemed in a great mood and was quite chatty too. Was 2nd tier, fron row, so got some photos that will need editing to be seen  and a couple of videos (up until I got told off  )

    Fab, fab, fab night.

Setlist wise it was well solid, but the sound mix left a lot to be desired. It's earlier in the tour, and the cohesion wasn't really there. Jetlag definitely seemed like a factor. They did what they needed to do and not much more, I don't feel they were 'on fire' by any stretch of the imagination. The energy level faded real quickly after just a few songs.

But PJ live on an ordinary day is still a bloody lot better than many acts out there.

Last night I was blind drunk and abandoned in the middle of london, yet I still managed to log on here and say my piece. Personally I doubt I will ever see a show that good again. That was a piece of history, and a perfect performance. It was the stones cementing pj into the fabric of british rock and roll. Who wants a rare set list? pearl jam's core material is beyond anything being played today. You know, whygo may just be a nice tune for some people, but for some of us we've actually fucking lived every one of these words.

The energy coming back at ed from the room was phenonmenal When we were singing 'or you can come to terms and realise you're the only one who cannot forgive yourself' it felt like we were carrying him - we were like a big family in a london living room. it could have been 1965, 1985, or 1995, it was timeless communion. Us brits normally have a horrible singing voice at the concerts. Not last night! They gotta release this boot.

Last night's show was all about PROXIMITY and SOUND. it was a setlist of core material. It was bread, cheese, with a little bit of fixing on it. At times I was almost wanting to fall off the balcony into the band. I could see them so clearly and the music was shaking through me and I was checking the friends strangers around me, and we were all fucking ONE.

That was the most beautiful thing i've ever experienced, and it went on for a number of hours. Every single song choice just kept me there.

These songs are my memories, my being, 20 years of life. I feel like a hurricane just blew through them.

    god bless pearl jam

Totally agree and it is only now really that its starting to sink in. But being the greedy type still would have loved Light Yrs & BLack, but as stated before you do not get opportunties to see this band in that venue very often if ever and it was a special night.

Awesome show. Very nice to hear Brother, and I was surprised how well Ronnie Wood played - he mustn't have been that pissed.

For the record, Mat Horne and Jonah Hill were in the audience.

Review going in London Lite this evening - I have been reliably informed they got five stars...

I think they skipped it because Low LIght was just such a perfect moment, they didn't need two down tempo songs in a row. The energy throughout the whole main set was unrivalled, I can't remember a gig with so much coursing through its veins and I guess they wanted to just rip striaght into Even Flow after a beautiful rendition of the pretty rare Low Light.

Great crowd, beautiful venue, relentlessly good set list and a faultless performance from the band.

'Sometimes' started us off nicely but from the moment 'Interstellar...' kicked in until 'Got Some' it was non stop action..... Then the encores were even better.

What an amazing gig and a brilliant night! Thanks all who we met there and, most of al, thanks Pearl Jam.
we're all going to the same place...

Wow, what can I say that hasn't been said already?! Gig of a lifetime for sure. Amazing atmosphere, great to meet new people (inc. a guy who remembers me from the Leeds festival in 06 - hope you enjoy Berlin!) What a tiny venue - I've never been before, and I knew it was small, but not that small!

Highlights? Interstellar Overdrive, Ronnie Wood and Present Tense. I had tears in my eyes for the latter.

Hope everyone enjoyed it (duh!) and had a safe journey home.

I have many bruises (one guy had very pointy elbows) and think something popped in my back during Alive! Was well worth it...best gig ever. I am supposed to be "working from home" today...although my work so far has consisted of making tea and toast :D

A little objectivity. A great occasion but the atmosphere and sense of anticipation was nothing like The Astoria. There was no real buzz before they came on. The setlist was nice and varied but the sound was awful and the band looked and sounded a little old and tired in my view. EV mentioned jetlag so maybe that was a factor but I came out thinking I had enjoyed a great evening but not a great gig. Also, I can do without the Ronnie Wood's of this world. It's a bit like sleeping with the enemy. The Rolling Stones to me represent the worst aspect of the commercialisation of music, a band who haven't released a worthwhile album for 30+ years and who tour for the money, not for the music (Keith Richards might be an exception). I hope PJ don't follow this route but the 'guest spots' the drum solo's and the twin necked guitars are too reminiscent of the pre-punk days for me when 'fans' were there to be used and abused and the bands became incredibly self-indulgent.

So, in short, a great gig but certainly not a classic and, for me, a few worrying trends.

Ooooh, a harsh critic. Guest spots are kinda to be expected in small gigs like this, it's hardly a trend for the entire tour. And playing Inside Job without a double neck guitar just doesn't sound right!

As for the anticipation, I think it's pretty much impossible to ever get the same kind of anticipation as the Astoria gig. No Euro show in 6 years and for a lot of people their first PJ gig. After 2, going on 3 euro tours in 3 years it's never going to have the same buzz. The atmosphere was great with everyone singing along, and the pit looked pretty lively til they seemed to tired themselves out :P

Absolutely amazing show. I thought it was far better than the Astoria show 3 years ago.

I'm shocked people think the sound was poor. From the floor towards the back it was amazing. The guitars were so clear without being muddy like they were at wembley 07. A really good acoustic venue. Setlist was very good with 3 amazing covers and some good rarities thrown in there too (Brother for only the second time in 18 years!)

Having seen the setlist I'm gutted they didn't do throw your hatred down!

sound cld have been better, from level 2 seemed like it wasn't reaching up to us, i'm guessing from level 1 and the ground sound was fine.

and for me comparing to astoria it wasn't as good, astoria was half the size so more intimate again there for a different gig both were ace but different :D

A double neck guitar is not just a show off thing - it means Mike can play 12 string and 6 string as part of the same song. He uses it every time on Inside Job.

I still can't decide over Astoria or Shepherd's Bush (or come to think of it, ranking any of the shows I've been to  ). Astoria had the brutal jumping around atmosphere since I was in the pit, Shepherd's Bush had the singing along with friends atmosphere of being in the rafters. Hard to compare the two.
