Right, for those of us interested in drinkies and meeting fellow PJ freaks... oops, I mean fans ;)

16th August - Manchester
The Moon Under Water
Between 4-5pm 'til late.
Pearl Jam tribute band 'Pearl Jammed' will be performing two sets over the course of the evening :D

Moon Under Water - Wetherspoons pub
68-74 Deansgate
Manchester
M3 2FN

http://www.jdwetherspoon.co.uk/pubs/pub ... Number=193

The Moon Under Water is a stone's throw from the MEN - directions on page 3 of this thread.

17th August - Manchester
The Moon Under Water OR The Walkabout
Before the show, when people are awake and have recovered from 16th. Time is whenever everyone's ready really... The Moon Under Water is closer to the MEN for ticket collections but The Walkabout has a PJ party all day... we can discuss it on Sunday evening :)

POST GIG - The Walkabout (Quay Street, Manchester) This will involve prize giveaways, Rockaoke, Pearl Jam videos and music. Entry is £2 after 11pm. It's easy to find, just walk straight down Deansgate away from the MEN and Moon Under Water and turn right at Quay Street (opposite Peter Street). :)

Info on PJ Walkabout party 17th August - http://promo.gmgradio.com/3605/

Ticket pick up from 12:00 at Tenclub window in the main box office. Early entry from 17:45 - I guess this means peeps will be in the pub, coming and going before 17:45 then ;)

18th August - London
The Market Porter
One for early drinkers and arrivals into London (before sort of 2pm time) as people will need to book into hotels around the venue and get tickets. When booked into hotels and tickets got, meet in HaHa Bar inside the O2 complex or in an alternative bar within the complex if the HaHa bar is full.

The Market Porter
9 Stoney Street
Borough Market
London Bridge
SE1 9AA

http://www.markettaverns.co.uk/The-Market-Porter/

Nearest tube station for The Market Porter: London Bridge (i'm told it's about 3 stops from the O2 on the underground Jubilee line)

Ticket pick up from 12:00 at Tenclub window in the main box office. Early entry from 18:00 - Nothing changing due to this. The cool kids ( 8-) ) are still heading to The Market Porter (all welcome if you're in London early) and stay there until about 3:30/4pm. Then book into hotels, get tickets and head to the O2 bars just before the show. :D

The Moon Under Water have been contacted and given prior warning that there may be hoards of us! They're very kindly putting on extra staff from 3pm :)

I have approx 150 UK tour badges to be given free homes to those who come see me first. Should you get one, please, don't forget to thank Dunkman for designing them and Chime, Dimitris and Urbanhippie for making them happen :D

I have tried to cater for and cover all plans/people's requirements here so please, no more... I have a headache...

;)

All are welcome... See y'all a week on Sunday or Monday! :D :geek:

    Are you fucking joking me?!

I'm not going to Shepherds Bush. Now, call that selfish all you like but i've done enough leg work for this.

You are going on the other hand... surely even you can organise a pub meet up?

Umm well i just thought that there might have been something, i dont really look at these meet up threads etc so there may have been something.

No its fine, its just i hadn't heard anything and thought you may have, and in that case then it should be covered by this thread seeing as its for all uk shows ;)

i guess its just best to just go for it and introduce yourself to someone who is in some sort of a pj shirt i guess! People have known each other for many years and been on many tours here so i can understand that it can be rather dawnting as people have their own established groups.

I dont have any issues with being shy, just the thought of going into a strange pub on my own would kinda get me uncomfortable

This being SheBu, we can just grab some beers and drink on the Green. Or if people want to be a tad classier, there's an O'Neills next door. A tad more idiotic? The Walkie, also next door. Further up the road there's a few more pubs.

I'm gonna rock up when I can pull myself away from work. Since I'm level 3, I don't really need to come too early. But when I do, you'll all know about it.

I wonder how the folks at the office will react when I show up to work with my mullet and flag combo? Oh, reminds me, need to pick up a spare from my supplier, just in case this current one falls apart (or gets thrown on stage) before the end of the tour.
115 bucks for half a haircut by a novice? I want my money back!

Anyhoo... I'm sorry about snapping at you like that, Ed. I'd had a bad night and I shouldn't have taken it out on you really. Looking forward to seeing you again in Manchester... hopefully we can get chance to talk this time and no one will have to go to the First Aid tent instead

try thinking of something really horrible, or boring, like Margaret Thatcher juggling naked... that should help prevent you coming too early... :o  :D

oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.
  • I work in White City/Shepherd's Bush and am going to the gig. Thought i'd give you a run down of the pubs in the area around the Empire.

Defectors Weld - Really nice little boozer, can get a little tricky getting a beer when busy but a nice place - about 2 mins from venue on the green. Nice beers too.

The Green - opposite Defectors Weld. Typical pub, you'll get your Fosters/Guiness etc there.

Weatherspoons - enough said really. In the shopping centre opposite Shepherd's Bush station. Full of alcoholics and stinks of piss...cheap drinks as always.

O'Neils - just around the corner from the Empire. Enough said about the place.

Vez Bar - slightly more swanky (for Shep Bush anyway) - cocktails and beers, usual stuff, more relaxed atmosphere. Opposite O'Neils

and of course there's good old Walkabout next to the venue and there's not much more that needs to be said about that one.

As for the 02 - The pub next to the entrance is a great place for a few drinks after the show, always a good atomosphere and they'll be Pearl Jam music on...Good times!!
    Reading Festival - Aug 27, 2006,Shepherd's Bush Empire - Aug 11, 2009, Wuhlheide - Aug 15, 2009, O2 Arena - Aug 18, 2009, GM Place - Sep 25, 2009, Madison Square Garden - May 20, 2010, Madison Square Garden - May 21, 2010, Hyde Park - Jun 25, 2010, Wuhlheide - Jun 30, 2010,

Sorry peeps but Mr. Dunkman has a point... this thread is for the Manchester and London O2 shows. The shows that the majority of us are going to.

If you wish to discuss SBE meet up plans, please start another thread. Many thanks.
