however, pearl jam was announced as the last act to play the spectrum.
does that mean its only pearl jam?
And the owners of the spectrum have flip flopped so many times regarding the closing, who knows what to believe?
No tweet tells me that there may be other acts involved and that there may be some kind of "grand finale" show.
But its all just masturbatory speculation until there is an announcement.

to me it does....and it is also my hope. who knows tho for certain?
and is 'maturbatory speculation' your new fave term or what? ;)

if pearl jam, and only pearl jam (with of course special guest/opener/whatever) were not to be the last act there...to me, doesn't make sense to say they are. if it's going to be some grand jam band festival.....well then...it makes sense to say some grand jam will be the last show. but hey, that's just me being a stickler. :P

    no tweets tells me....nothing. ;)

I really don't think 10/31 is gonna be a big all-star jam or whatever. If you're serving filet mignon, you don't lay a bunch of bagels and fruit on the table.

couldnt fit it all in one post huh? :D:D
the spectrum was supposed to close awhile ago, but the owners underestimated the local response, so they have extended the closing date three times or something like that
so take what they say with a grain of salt
and yes we are just stroking ourselves until there is an announcement-even if there are strong rumors

The 9/30/09 closing date was given out last year in February or March 2008 when they announced they were closing the venue. They changed the date this summer and went on radio and tv stating that last month.

    que?
it is in all one post?
    :?:

and yes, i know....and all reserve the right to change their minds. ;)
however, i am gonna believe (unless told otherwise) that if pearl jam is slated to be the last band to play the spectrum, that indeed, they will be the last band to play the spectrum. i can only go by info already out there. beyond that, there just seems to be flying soooo many rumors, so much speculation....so yea, i am still quite hopeful for a 10.31 show. and sure i realize that....but i thought all enjoyed it, so just go with it and stop trying to interfere......

seems to me, those most vocal about it not happening, are the ones with no intention of going. i wonder why that is? ;)

  • I have an announcement.

Instead of PJ I will be playing a show at the spectrum on 10/31. I have been told my voice sounds like a cat being skinned and I strum a mean match box and rubber band. You should really check it out, I am big hit on the assisted living circuit.

Since I really doubt there's going to be a Halloween show, seems like a perfect time for one of the many tribute bands to step up and get something scheduled. I think this is the closest thing we're going to get aside from what's already been scheduled and sold (out).

What makes you so sure there won't be a Halloween show? Just the fact that there has not been an announcement?

I doubt there would be so much talk of it on the radio over the past couple of days if there wasn't anything to show for the rumors.

debbie downers and negative nancys i tell ya!
and why are the terms always about women? ;) sheesh....

    i agree......i'm still hoping!
besides which, no offense to the many tributes out there, but damn....just seeing pearl jam the night before, yea....if 10.31 doesn't happen, i'll simply go home and do other things. i find tributes are fun during non-touring times, i cetainly don't *need* to hear anyone else play pj, after i just saw live pj! obviously, others may feel differently....

however, 10.31 is 3 months away! there is still PLENTY of time to announce this possible show! i HOPe for an announcement SOON...but i'll be more than happy for one later, i just would LOVe to see this show HAPPEN, and yea.....BE THERE!

I'm by no means "sure" there won't be a Halloween show, but common sense is starting to take over. Maybe the rumors are actually starting here and we're in a vicious circle or something??? I think reserving dates and actually using them are two very different things... I'm just glad it's a weekend rumor. Makes it much easier to stay flexible just in case the rumors are true.

I am not a fan of tribute bands at all..... Especially ones that try to mimic my favorite bands.

Still 3 full months left, announments have been made with far less time than this.

  • they haven't announced it yet because this is the big, bold, beautiful, free thing. all 10c members who show up in a costume get free admission to the show. all the legalities are being ironed out. you heard it here first.
