  • That is a good assumption. This is what is driving everyone bonkers. People are dropping hints, Crappy Websites are publishing stupid stories, MMR Jocks are hinting, Someone Booked Suite Q for that show. Just no announcement. Then Bruce Announces 2 shows and then adds 2 more the day after tickets go on sale.

What's driving me bonkers is needing to make arrangements for the shows and waiting because I'm thinking they'll add a date or two! Apparently Pearl Jam likes to make the Philly tourism industry sweat it out a bit, too. ;)

Yeah, with everything that has been going on (rumors, hints, suite sales, etc.) and with Calgary coming up, I like to think that we'll get something very soon. Of course that is entirely wishful thinking on my part.

For some reason they seem to have recently been making announcements on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (of course I could easily be implementing selective memory to justify another day on the board). One would like to think that they would therefore announce something today or Friday. Then again, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of logic to what is going on right now.

Anyway... here's to another day of roaming the boards for any shred of meaningless evidence that points to an announcement today...

I still think The Spectrum (Comcast Tickets) is driving the bus. The added Springsteen shows go on sale tomorrow, so I'd guess an announcement about more PJ won't happen until Friday at soonest.

10/31 is the easiest of the eight shows to sell, so it makes sense to save it for last.

I agree and I think it may even be some sort of closing show with other bands.
If there is no tweet, then this makes sense.

I heard from somebody that "Philly 4 is said to have close to 8,500 10C seats available instead of the usual 1,500!"

    um...philly 4?
i know there are rumors of 4 shows, but i thought as of right now, most rumors focused on 3. that said, when you refer to philly 4, do you then mean the saturday 10.31 gig? if so - cool! however, even 8,500 10c tix will not be enough!

Yeah, I don't know about the multi-bill thing. I think it'll be just PJ, but like I discussed with someone in another Philly thread, the Holmdel and Boston 3 marathon show were announced way afterwards. I can see this happening for this special show, as those two shows were quite nice.

Why? I find it odd that Springsteen leapfrogged PJ in terms of adding dates, as I said in another thread, but there's no upside I know of waiting weeks to announce more PJ.

I think people over-think the whole "10-C will wait until after Calgary..." kind of stuff. It takes rubysdad five minutes to post the announcement here, and the sale itself is over in 20 minutes or so.

I'm still holding strong to my theory that announcement will be next week along with the NZ and Australia shows and the shows that fill the gaps between Seattle and LA (Portland, Vegas?) and the gaps between SD and Philly.

however, pearl jam was announced as the last act to play the spectrum.
does that mean its only pearl jam?
And the owners of the spectrum have flip flopped so many times regarding the closing, who knows what to believe?
No tweet tells me that there may be other acts involved and that there may be some kind of "grand finale" show.
But its all just masturbatory speculation until there is an announcement.

When exactly have they flip flopped? They came out about a month and a half ago and pushed the closing date back from 9/30 to the end of October. Then they said that Pearl Jam would be the last act to play there with dates scheduled 10/28 and 10/30. They never said that 10/30 would be the date of the last show.
