we all would just prefer to find out within 2 minutes and not an hour.
a very good point, perhaps the best critique yet

100 mb through DSL, in New York? I know that's theoretically possible with the tech, but are you sure :?: Seems a little far fetched to me, no offense

    actually I was surprised
my wireless runs at 24mb and it felt a little slow, so I switched to a hard wire and it went up to 100mb
obviously my wireless router is slow
but I know that speed is subject to the response time of the website I am using
downloads sure dont run at that speed

i left work early, logged on at 430 began trying at 5 sharp, got the fucking buy butting at least 20 times and got either error messages or sent back to the temp out of stock page....i dont understand

looks like iwont be going to philly since i cant afford regular tickets worth a damn and their ass raping charges on top of traveling and a hotel stay, i cannot believe i wasted 2 hours of my fucking life on this to be disappointed

+1 i hope i dont get shit for leaving work early, there HAS to be a better way
    Some die just to live
  • I got tickets for Philly 1 on my first try at 3PM sharp, and I have a mediocre cable connection, so maybe it is luck after all.

go to speedtest.net to check your speed... Ethernet can run at 100mb, that doesn't mean it is.... and if you are getting that speed from running your mouse over the little computer icons thing in your tray then thats not what your real speed is anyway.

i think i said that correct

I have Verizon Fios and am running at 25.17Mb/s up and 12.66 Mb/s down

im pretty sure DSL should be no where close to that fast

Thats his network speed, not internet connection speed. Many people get the two confused. 100MB network speed pertains to transfering files from one computer to another over a network, just one expample. But DL and uploading stuff pertains to internet speed. For example, I have 100MB per/sec network speed and 10MB/sec internet cable connection.

well I am back to wireless
    but that site tells me
    1.85 Mbps for downloads
    1.12 mbps for uploads

which seems about right in terms of adding content to my computer

but that is very different from what microsoft tells me when I click status of my ethernet connection

    you may be right
  • I logged in at 5 pm est. On my first try I got the tix and put them in my cart. They were visible in the shopping cart, only had to make the payment. I clicked "check out" and it came up with an error message telling me to log in. Now before anyone tries to get smart I will tell you that I WAS logged in. I know this, because when I went to click the "login" button, it instead said "Logout [cannotstaylong]". Clearly the website malfunctioned, and wouldn't let me check out even though I was already logged in. When I tried to log back in, the site crashed. I finally got back on, but at that time my shopping cart had been emptied. So I spent the next hour and fifteen minutes refreshing, getting about 10 "buy" icons, only to get the same "temporary sold out" message. I was at work on a T-1 line, so it was not an internet connection issue.

There is a serious problem when you do everything the correct way, successfully reserve tickets, and then the Ten Club's inadequate technology and equipment literally screws you out of tickets.

I have been shut out before, but it's been because I either did not refresh or had a bad connection. This is different and in my opinion is unacceptable. I don't pay $20 a year for this to happen. I realize that being in the 10C does not guarantee that I will get tickets, but I think it should guarantee that my payment will be rewarded with a system that will not screw people out of tickets they have.

Go ahead, blast me. I don't care.

  • Very annoyed but I will not let this bother me too much. They don't have enough tickets to please all of us. Because of this, there should have only been 1 pair per member for 1 show. If you got two shows, congrats. I will not be renewing my membership ever again. I would rather pay some scalper than spend so much time trying to get tickets here. The Ten Club will not let me down again as I no longer have any expectations for it. I can care less about a Christmas Single or a news letter. I just want tickets.

Why the fuck does it have to be so hard to get tickets for this band? Maybe if the people who have already seen them 2 times layed off just once everyone else would get a chance.
    Thanks EPOTTSIII!

its not hard to get tickets
its hard to get the preferential 10c tix
especially in the northeast or when the shows are limited
  • That was absolutely ridiculous.. Hour and a half on a T1... Multiple times clicked on buy and got error messages every time...

How is it that we pay $83 a ticket, and $20 for membership, but yet they can't upgrade their servers... I would rather go back to the mail it in process...

I agree I wasted over almost 2 hours trying to get tickets. I got through 3 or 4 times and clicked the buy button and it sent me to a page that wouldn't allow me to complete my transaction. I have been buying fan club tickets for years and every time they have a pre-sale they can not handle the volume and the server crashes. Hopefully one day they will get a server big enough to handle the fan base. PEARL JAM is the best band in world and the Ten Club website is a third world site.

Yeah you would think the millions of dollars they bring in just from membership cost and renewals that they would be more prepared for such heavy traffic. :?

  • I called out of work today! For what? Nothing! They kept saying wrong password and when I finally logged in with the same password I was using to begin with. The tickets were sold out! They need to update their stuff. :(
