Buying tickets for Pearl Jam shows has become very unpleasant. Considering we are in a FAN CLUB and this is a pre sale, there should be more tickets available. How could they have been out of stock 1 minute after releasing tickets. I am on vacation with my family and I literally wanted to vomit yesterday. No tickets left. Pearl jam needs to work on their web site to handle their huge fan base. Congrats to all that got tickets!Albany 5/06

looks like iwont be going to philly since i cant afford regular tickets worth a damn and their ass raping charges on top of traveling and a hotel stay, i cannot believe i wasted 2 hours of my fucking life on this to be disappointed
You don't make sense when you say that you can't afford travel and hotel stay plus a pair of TM tickets, yet if you had gotten 10C tix, you would be all set. If you got 10C tix, wouldn't you still need to travel and stay in a hotel? What are TM charges, another $30 for 2 tix? If I were you I would still try for TM tix if you are really wanting to go.
to you, and the other person who commented some crap about "you can't afford an extra 8 dollars"....I have no idea how much the tickets will be at comcast, but to travel from VA to philly i'd like to be able to get a somewhat decent seat and have a feeling they will be more expensive than the 10c price was, not to mention when i have bought tickets in the past the fees/charges end up being much more than that. I don't need anyone's opinion about what my husband and I can or cannot afford. there are some people who actually are on a tight budget and yes, $30 can make a difference when you can't really afford 2 tickets, gas, and a hotel to begin with. I understand there is a lot of bitching going on, and quite frankly i'm over the whole situation now...I am still disappointed but what can you do? not wasting anymore energy on being upset over something I clearly had no control over. will i try to get tickets on saturday? of course. will I be purchasing them? depends on pricing. anyone who was not lucky enough to nab some tickets for any of the shows had a right to be disappointed, and a right to express that, if you didn't feel like reading about it, you had the choice not to. so life is not fair and there are worse things in the world than not getting some pearl jam tickets...it's not like everyone doesn't already know that and no one needs to be reminded.0 -

They weren't. People got them as late as 50 minutes after they went on sale. What happens is everyone grabs them right when they go on sale, making the server slow down or freeze. It's quite frustrating for everyone, but if you keep trying, you'll usually get them.

I feel lucky to have got one of these shows, however disappointing it was. The site had some major issues as we all know. As Jack might say, "YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRAFFIC!"
I feel there should have been restrictions though. Like they did with Storytellers. I think you had to be from NY, NJ and possibly PA only to get tix? All I am saying is they have done it so why not for this? Since this show has very special meaning to a lot of people in the Spectrum area. Dude my first concert ever, first Flyers game, Ice Capades, LOL, when I was little, Rocky,etc..... And now it's closing. I feel PJ knows that. So why no restrictions? I think they should have made them available to PA, NJ and DE residents only. This is the Delaware Valley area if you are not from around here. And that is where most people come from that go to the Spectrum.
I mean I am sure people from all over the country would have shown up to Storytellers for a chance to see Pearl Jam in a small club that would be televised? So I wonder why they did that for that and not something like this too?
Not complaining, ok I am, LOL!! Just want to see everyone's opinion on that idea I guess. Just curious. I mean no doubt even with a restriction like that there would still be some people not happy. But there would be more Philly area people happy.
Like I said I am happy my wife and I were able to get night two. BUT our wedding anniversary is 10/28 and we missed out on that show. : ( We still got public sale to try though. It's just going to kill me sitting in an upper level on our anniversary....I'll see these people sitting close and say man he could be from Alaska!! LOL!! If we get in the building that night though I will be happy. And truthfully it is so much smaller than say Wachovia, you'll feel closer.
Maybe Bruce will show up and do some stuff with the boys?! That would be awesome. He is playing the Spectrum October 13th and 14th. I mean the fact that PJ may be the last band to play this venue is awesome. I mean even Bruce is before PJ?!http://www.5against1live.com

I guess my question would be, I live in Maryland now, but grew up in South jersey as a kid, and went to many events at the spectrum, saw the NBA finals, Dr J play, Flyers playoff games, etc. Even though I have family in jersey still, should I not be allowed a chance since I don't live in the area anymore?Post edited by pjsteelerfan on...got a mind full of questions and a teacher in my soul...0 -

Restricting ticket sales to PA, NJ and DE would not have been a fair solution. The reason is simple: this is the only venue on the east coast. If they had shows in more cities in different east coast areas, restrictions might have been a little fair. But when you only offer one location on the east coast for 2 shows you cannot restrict it to 2 1/2 states.
I also don't necessarily buy into the whole argument that since it is the Spectrum, only Philly fans should get to experience it. Half of the excitement is due to the fact that these are most likely going to be pretty special shows, especially in terms of setlists and other surprises. In that regard it is something that any PJ fan would enjoy, regardless of whether or not they are from Philly. I understand that the physical building is special for many of you from the Philly area, but the fact that PJ is playing there makes it special for all of us.5/28/06 - Camden, NJ

Now this is a restriction that I think would be fair and would have worked. Restricting who can purchase tickets based on location would be wrong, but a limit on the number of shows, like for LA, would have worked.5/28/06 - Camden, NJ

Dang I did not think of that. People that no longer live here. OK restrictions are a bad idea. BUT they did do it for Storytellers. So I am wondering the reason they did it for that? All I know is I would not be trying to get tickets to a show in Seattle to some famous venue that is closing, just because it will be special. All Pearl Jam shows are special IMO. So this one is more special to me being from the area and knowing the venues history. OK I'll stop whinning because I did not both shows now. Sorry!! LOL!!http://www.5against1live.com

The advantage the locals have is they can walk up to the Spectrum the night of the show and probably get tickets for pennies on the dollar. Hell, troll the board the day of the show and you might even find yourself a great 10-C ticket."They said ... timing was everything

Bottom line is right. Demand exceeds supply and all of the demand tries to take all of the supply at the exact same time.
Really though, if they would just announce a full tour all at once like in 2003 and like every other band does, this would not be as much of an issue, but we all know that will never happen.DAL-7/5/98,10/17/00,6/9/03,11/15/13

In all fairness to the 10C- even if they had the best servers in the world, there would still be crashes to the system and disappointed people. If 30,000 people are hitting the servers at one time- there will be problems.
Think of it as people trying t get through the door of a shop during a sale at Christmas. Sometimes there is a stampede to the door and then it gets jammed until some can go through. You get the item you want or you don't.
I"m not saying that 10c could have not have done better- maybe give each individual a specific time to log in and get tickets if they want it, based on seniority- but then the newer people will luck out- and the complaining will begin.
Don't have a solution- they are trying- by buying shows on different days- helped ease the load.
But if a lot of people want to go to a show- demand exceeds supply, and the server is going to crash.0 -

You said it best. I guess my issue comes down to the website. If it just worked normally and said either I got tickets or it was sold out would have made me feel better. Still mad that I did not get tix but then I would have no one to place a blame on but my bad timing. I guess the fact that the site crashed makes it easy for someone that did not score a particular show blame it on something other than there own bad luck. With the site acting that way it makes you think crazy stuff. Like I may have got tix if the site was working proplerly. Oh well in the past I have been fortunate. Us Americans and instant gratification. We are spoiled. Well I am I guess. I will still be there 10/28 believe that!! No matter what!!http://www.5against1live.com

that happened to me for the Philly 1 purchase. Luckily I scrambled back in and my second try was successful.
the Philly 2 purchasing was much more wild. Whenever I clicked on buy, it would take me to the goods home and say the item wasnt on sale.0 -

I have been a fan club member for about 15 years now, this is my first post to the board. I just like many others was frustrated by the events that took place yesterday, personally I agree with some of the other people, who suggested going back to the snail mail/money order system from 2000, it has continually gotten more & more difficult to purchase tickets through the years, not sure why, maybe technology maybe not, I counted I clicked on the buy button 17 times and was rejected all 17, same for MSG awhile back, I will try Comcasttix tomorrow but am not happy about it, increase my membership dues to 100 dollars a year to fix the problem if need be, it would be worth it to get my Ten Club tickets back into my life. I was prepared for yesterday, sync'd my computer clock at checktime.gov, was logged in at 4:57, started clicking right at 5 and was shut out, cleared my browsing history and all cookies to make the computer run at optimum speed, standard procedure before I try to buy any tickets. Ten Club you have been insanely wonderful through the years, but I am definitely frustrated with the new yet seemingly inefficient system.
Sincerely,
A disheartened fan.Shows:8/28/98, 2000 - 8/23, 8/24, 9/1, 9/2, 9/4, 2003 - 7/5, 7/6, 7/8, 7/9, 7/12, 2004 - 10/1, 2005 - 10/1, 2006 - 5/27, 5/28, 6/3, 7/15, 7/16, 2008- 6/19, 6/20, 6/25, 2009 - 10/31, 2010 - 5/21, 2013 - 10/19, 10/27, 2016 - 5/1, 2018 - 8/18, 2022 - 9/11, 9/14, 2024 - 8/22, 9/7, 9/150 -
Total bullshit... couldn't get tix to either show. Guess that's what happens when you play one venue in the Northeast and have to fight 5+ states full of tenclub members to get tickets. Nice. I'm hoping for some added shows.... but with how the site jams up for pre-sale tix.... what's the point??0
