you can jump on a bus for $1.50 a block from the hotel that'll take you to or within a block or so of the safe. i also know the hotel in the past has had a free downtown shuttle for guests. i'd check with the kind folks at the best western about it.
i've actually walked from quest field (right next door)to seattle center. not a bad walk especially on a nice day/eve.

If you're flying in to Sea-Tac, you might want to check with the hotel about an airport shuttle as well, if you don't plan on renting a car. The downtown public transportation is good (both the bus, and there is a monorail from Seattle Center to Downtown) but I'm not sure how good it is from Sea-Tac, as that's a ways south of where we will be. I'm sure cabs run from there, but that would be a spendy ride.
. . . and in the aching night under satellites, I was not received. --CC
i don't think this best western has a shuttle to the airport...BUT...
the new light rail from the airport to downtown should be open (i think it opens next week actually). if not there are buses that run from the airport to downtown as well.
bump. should we be calling or just give our names to you for the arrangements?

there is a hostel up from Golden Gardens park and Shilsole marina in Ballard that is supposed to be nice-
probably lots cheaper than the overpriced hotels in Seattle.
but try Priceline, I have gotten the waterfront Marriott for $50.

call the hotel directly to get the rate, and tell the person taking the reservation that you want the "Pearl Jam Key Arena" rate.

just remember that if you book in ballard or any areas outside downtown it may be cheaper, but consider additional transportation cost (ie. car rental) and...with the breakfast buffet you can stock up on goodies for the day and cut down on food costs. plus you get the experience of staying with a bunch of other pj fans. always a good time.
i just called the hotel and it looks like some of the days might have limited availability. (i'm not at work -im in maui- so i dont have access to my work computer). i told reservations that if anyone wanted to book beyond the original 5 days i got approved to go ahead and honor the rate.
to be clear...you have to call the hotel directly...i cant make reservations from the computer i am using to check my pm's...and i am not on here much right now....just jumped online this morning to purchase my tickets, then i am off to kapalua and honolua for some snorkelling.
i work for 2 other properties in the area, so if this one sells out, i will see if i can get the rate extended to other properties if anyone is interested (p.s. those are the Best Western Loyal Inn and Sixth Avenue Inn)
as long as your in downtown seattle you don't really have to worry about needing a car downtown is pretty condensed and easy to walk from one end to the other

Yeah. I've been extremely lucky using Priceline so I'll try that first. Even Hotwire had a 4 star hotel in Downtown - Pike Place for $79/night.
Won't be there myself, but were I able to, I'd jump all over this in a second.
