KAT - will we have time to decide, or will it be immediate?

I think a lot of us are wondering if we'll get a day or so to decide, or if *poof* it'll be up for sale. Can you confirm if we'll get some notice before the on-sale?

(if you're silent, I'm assuming it'll be the *poof* scenario :) )

don't think its quite fair to make that assumption. I would say if she's silent, you should assume that she's not going to tell you...

They are deciding between puting them up right away and everyone crying about that, or setting a date and the site crashing and everyone crying about that.

Decide what dates to go to, figure out work stuff, etc. If they put it on sale immediately, there's not much planning that can be done. :) Any show I attend is going to cost me much more than the cost of the ticket and travel... It would be cool to know we'll have time to make a decision about which date/dates to attend.

You're interested in the Philly shows, right?

    Pretty clear they're either 10/27-29 or 10/28, 10/30, and 10/31.

Either way you'd have three months to make your travel plans, etc.

seriously, that's great for all of you who ARE 100% certain, but not ALL of us are. also, some of us may be splitting tickets between members, so deciding who is buying what, or depending on what dates, what shows you'll actually go to, etc. ya know, MOST bands, hell, most events - period, DO give at a minimum a couple of days notice...so i don't think it so *odd* to request just that. some of us just can't decide like that necessarily....and that could well end up with some 10c seats going to waste if someone jumps the trigger and buys.

and even if those philly dates are correct, it still makes a difference to some of us, ultimately what we'll decide....and can't decide w/o being 100% certain what dates are *it*. i don't understand why some have difficulty understanding this?
    Stay with me...

so i don't think it so *odd* to request just that.

It's not "odd," but do you think this idea never crossed 10-C's mind? They've been doing the instant sale because they think it's best, for whatever reason.

As someone who lurks on this board a lot, I love it.

Here's an idea: figure out which dates work for you, and if dates other than that pop up tomorrow, don't click "buy."

I'm not trying to be a dick, but it's really that simple.

The difference between those two rumored sets of dates makes a big difference on my end of things. I have to manage a Halloween event to manage on 10/30 and 10/31. Would need to cut out of it early on 10/31, and I'd need to see if I can even do that. If the dates are 27-29, I have a little more flexibility, but not much. If I could resell my TC ticket, I wouldn't worry about it - but if I buy it too quickly and find I can't make it after, I've got to eat $170... so, just a little bit of time would be nice. :)

This is a brand new strategy. No announcement for it, no letting us know what's going on (we are the customers, so basically it's poor business). They are obviously in experimental mode, and not doing this because "they think it's best".

fair enough. :) ...though, it would still be nice to be able to look at a calendar in advance of setting plans which will cost hundreds of dollars or more.

No matter what, nothing is going to work for everyone, hence my above post. Do they put tickets on sale now and everyone gets pissed about that, or announce a date, site may crash, and everyone gets pissed about that. But one thing seems fairly certain, that shows are going to be between 10/25/09 and 10/31/09. That should give everyone a pretty big window to plan around, seeing as it is July.

If they do it this way again, that will be three consecutive tours/shows. Not an "experiment."

I completely understand what you're saying, and in a perfect world of 50,000 ten club tickets and mammoth bandwith, I'd be all for a heads up of a week or even a month.

But pjsteelersfan hit the nail on the head -- if they do that, the site will crash and the message board freaks (myself included) will have less chance of getting tickets.

I'd have to talk with people and see if they're ok with it for the 31st. The event ends at 3pm, and my store is open until 6pm. I'd also need to think how much money I'd lose having my store closed for a couple of weekdays versus half a Saturday, the drive-time on a Saturday at 3pm, when it's a 4.5 hour drive, etc... plus trying to get a friend to go with me is hard if I don't know what date we're talking about. Lots of stuff... There's wiggle room, but only if I have time to wiggle. :)

Announcement? Or announcement AND ticket sales?

Can we please get some confirmation on this from 10C as it makes all the difference to so many of us with families and jobs! We could really use a head's up to try to see if travel plans are feasible for certain cities/dates!
