DVR set. With the Old Breed was an incredible read. I can't believe what these people had to go through. I hope this does it justice.

Nothing but very positive reviews thus far.

    DVR set here too!

    Can't wait to see it!

I'm a HUGE Band of Brothers fan, and if The Pacific is half as good as B.O.B, it's going to be great.

The first episode was great!! The special effects are awesome and it has a great look to it. I think this has the potential to overtake Band of Brothers as the better WWII miniseries. Man, Sunday is so far away. The previews were unreal.

Amazing episode tonight. This is going to be a great mini series. The beginning of this series is moving much faster than band of brothers. I can not wait until next week.

Doesn't the M1's history date back to WWI as well???

I've watched Band of Brothers at least 12 times all the way through, and am now reading the book by Stephen E Ambrose - the book is highly recommended (though, the show is very close to the book).

Anyone read anything else by Ambrose? Are the two that The Pacific is based on decent reads? I can't afford HBO either, but I'll get my hands on The Pacific...
