    NEW Song (Just for Albany)

Is that the official title of the song Kat? Haha just kidding...

    Great show...

lots of energy from Liam Finn anyone who hasn't had a chance to see him be sure you are there for the opening its a can't miss.

Eddie was great per usual. Messed up the lyrics to Guaranteed several times then stated that it was the longest version of the song he had ever played. Seemed to encourage a lot more fan involvement than when I saw him at Montreal last year. The "Song just for Albany" was just that he made up a quick tune that had lyrics for Albany basically rhymed with the word Albany very cool.

At one point when talked about the busy year (having a new kid, album, etc.) seemed like he was going to say something about coming back to tour in Albany but stopped himself short. All in all a very good show the crowd seemed to police itself with only minimal screams of EDDIE.
  • This show exceeded my expectations. Ed is definitely the next Dylan,Townshend,Springsteen.... loved it

Great show. Ed was in good spirits and humor. The quote of the night was him talking about an article in the local paper that said they played in Albany in 93 with Public Enemy and Neil Young. Unfortunately, it never happened. He said now I may have a bad memory, but I would remember Neil Young standing next to Flavor Flav, which caused the audience to shout Flavor Flav and Yeah Boy. Hilarious. Beautiful state back drops that were changed throughout the show. Venue was beautiful and sounded great; can't wait for tomorrow.

Great show all around. New segment this time where Ed has a giant chair that looks like two feet, basically says its story time, grabs a beer and a cigarette and told a long story about one of the Monkeywrench tours where he encountered some fans in the parking lot and told of an adventure trying to give a girl a t-shirt, when he went to give it to her, she was taking a piss in the parking lot in the open, funny shit.

wow...what a great night....i was blessed in my home town with 3rd row ...dead center!! The Albany song lyrics consisted of ...Albany your so tall to me.... oh Albany......shrunken head on a shrunken body....thats all i remember. Porch EV solo was my highlight of the night. I've always loved that song and to hear him sing it live was amazing.

This show was amazing! I think the best show I've seen ever, out of any show. He had great stories, great songs. I loved every minute of it. Sitting on the chair to tell a story was fantastic. The whole show was fantastic.

I'm really hoping they release these solo shows as bootlegs. I would love a copy of this show.

I love aucustic Lukin and you're ture should be played more often, beautiful song.
  • Excellent show. "Sometimes" and "Girl from the No. Country" were highlights for me. Waited with my wife for 1.5 hours (or more) by the bus. We both shook his hand and I said, "Thanks for the music, Eddie." He replied, "Thank you, sir. You've got great eyes." A perfect way to cap off a memorable night of music. Thanks again, Eddie!

The show was excellent! My 10C# is 169XXX, and I got center section, 9 rows back.

I went to college in the Albany area, and had never been to the Palace before tonight. Nice place, good sound.

Before the show started, I found an Ed guitar pick on the floor under my seat! Looked around, didn't see any more anywhere else. It's white, with the EV red, white, and blue bull's-eye on one side, and the EV red, white, and blue stars logo on the other side.

Some shouting, but nothing over the top.

Story-time was a little weird, and random, but really funny. Maybe it was the chair made out of feet...

A lot of people waited outside for autographs at first. It drizzled on and off, and the numbers dwindled. We waited for almost two hours. Some idiot ripped the license plate off of the back of Ed's tour bus. The bus driver ran out of the bus, caught the guy, and got it back.

Ed came out and didn't sign anything, but shook hands with, and spoke to, every single person that waited. I'd never met him before tonight. I thanked him for everything, and he complimented me on my bull's-eye/Who t-shirt, saying he had one just like it, and he told me I had a great smile. I'm 6'3, 330, bald, with a goatee. Not too many people tell me I have a great smile. I almost started to cry.

    A few other tidbits.

Ed mentioned first night kinks a bunch of times, but I found the screwups rather endearing.

During Man of the Hour, he player what he referred to as a small guitar and stopped dead right at the beginning because the guitar was too loud. He then joked something to the effect that the beauty of a ukelele was that it was a small instrument that knew its place and made a small sound, while this guitar was trying to make too big a sound.

Dropped the lyric in Guaranteed, tried to pick it up again, missed it again, and then finally got it (but dropped some words later).

Said that he hadn't played State Trooper since he was a 15 year old -- sounded great.

After the story about the girl peeing, he said the next song would be (paraphrasing) Young Lady Peeing in the Middle of a Hotel Parking Lot and then launched into Small Town.

I was at Boston 2 solo last year which I loved, but Ed just seemed more relaxed tonight and overall I enjoyed this a bit more (both were incredible).

All the nonsense about Ed's voice can be laid to rest. He sounded great and 17 years after I first heard him there is still no singer I would rather hear live (and he didn't look heavy either).

    Few notes about goods:

There was a program distributed as you came in the door- very similar to the one on the last solo tour. Seemed to have more supply than when I saw him in Boston.

    Very nice poster.

Three different shirts. One was similar to the Black and orange ITW logo shirt from last tour but in Black and blue (nice colors). One was a white T with a V shaped stars and stripes thing and EV above it with dates, etc on the back. Third was more of a jersey style with EV on the front and ALBANY as the "player name" on the back and the number 23 (someone had to point out to me that the numbers were a reversal of the EV on the front).

Great time -- just wish I could make it to more of these!

Was in the third row balcony, center, and during Lukin the balcony was shaking(thoughts of MSG 7/8/03 immediately jumped into my head). He is ideally suited to these small venues(IMO), casual, funny, relaxed, and in touch with what's going on in front(Or above) him. Good, good show.

btw, what the hell was that wizard head of whatever it was the Liam Finn was wearing whilst he swept the stage before the duo with Ed. It was very funny. Anybody?
