  • If you think I have an ax to grind, it's because I think you're lying and you've provided no evidence to the contrary. And I don't think it's unkind to tell someone that they're full of shit, when they have provided NO EVIDENCE to the contrary. If you told me that you had an authentic DVD of The Star Wars Christmas Special I would also tell you were full of shit. Or if you told me that you have a pet unicorn I would tell you you were full of shit. That's not being mean. I just am FLABBERGASTED that this record exists. I've been scouring ALL WEBSITES AND MESSAGE BOARDS related to this topic since you claimed to have a copy of this, ESPECIALLY google, and have yet to see ANY evidence of it. AT ALL! PLEASE, I'm BEGGING you, since you're unable to share a photo, or send me a copy, or put it up on eBay for charity, or PM your store address, ALL THAT I ASK is that you share the URL link of the photograph of this record. In fact, if you provide me with ANY EVIDENCE AT ALL THAT THIS RECORD EXISTS, I will apologize and leave you alone. I'm sorry I can't let this go, it's just who I am.

p.s. Will you at least admit, at the very least, that if it took you 2 min. and 54 seconds to find a google pic of it, that it is not, in your words, "not too hard to find."

So, getting back to what this thread what once was......I was out and about today and, of course, stopped at a local consignment shop that sells records. I feel I had a good day. I was able to get 3 The Who albums for very cheap. I obtained "Quadrophenia" the jacket is in not the best shape but, the original booklet is in tact. I also got "It's Hard." My question is about the 3rd I purchased it is "Who's Missing" on the back of the jacket there is a stamp which reads "For Promotional Use Only Ownership Reserved by MCA Records INC. Sale is Unlawful" the stamp is in a silver colored ink. Can anybody provide some insight.

  • Here's what's at stake: if this guy is lying his credibility a giver of advice is at stake. Again, all I'm asking for is proof that this record exists. ANYWHERE. do the research yourself. PLEASE. I don't think I'm being out of line.

  • Ok, this is my last post on this, because people who "collect" records for 15 years DO NOT know all, nor do I, but I know enough to quiet you up. Have you ever been to Asia/Europe? Go into ANY vinyl shop and about 25% of the records are pressed using the below web site or similar machines, INCLUDING DMB UNDER THE TABLE...Again, THIS IS NOT A HARD CONCEPT. Boots/counterfeits have existed since the inception of vinyl. They will even make you a sleeve and jacket..., NOW, LEAVE US ALONE. My integrity is as hard as oak, and you questioning it in a rude and ignorant fashion is insulting to say the least. I don't OWE you anything. I have helped COUNTLESS people over the years with their vinyl issues, and you commenting on me and my thread in this fashion is UNACCEPTABLE! Enough. Look at the web site so you can feel better about yourself, yet the rest of the people on this thread know the truth, and they are who matters, not you. DO NOT PM ME ANY MORE. Let it go, I owe you nothing, be satisfied in your loss.

  • Ow, and I forgot your picture: (Its the one on the left, or port)

  • Are you serious!? So you provide a site that makes custom records and a fucking platinum award as evidence that this record exists?! Wow. Throw that RCA Award on the platter and see what sound comes out. It's probably Alabama or Kenny Rogers.

I completely understand the concept that records are made by websites that you provided in the EU and Asia. I've been record shopping in London, Amsterdam, Florence, Venice, Rome and Paris. I would say that the number of boots/counterfeits is probably closer to 10%, but I digress. Here's the problem: you can't call it a counterfeit if there was never an original made in the first place. THERE HAS NEVER BEEN AN OFFICIAL PRESSING OF THIS RECORD EVER. At best it's a bootleg (which you are apparently selling in your store, i'll get to that in a minute) and at worse you COMPLETELY LYING ABOUT HAVING IT. I don't know which is more pathetic.

As for your credibility, it is null at this point. Here's why:

1.) you never provided evidence that this record actually exists (a photo of a platinum or gold award doesn't count, brother).

2.) the evidence you did provide was woefully suspect.

3.) you sarcastically question my credibility as a collector and then call me rude ("right action" Mr. Buddhist?)

4.) most damningly, in a previous post you say that you don't sell boots in your shop and then you freely admit that you're selling this boot (allegedly) for $12.95.

Again, if you can provide REAL, CREDIBLE evidence that this exists, PLEASE share it. PLEASE. I'M BEGGING YOU. If you do, I will apologize profusely. If this record wasn't so important to me, and if you weren't so humblebraggy about it, I would've let it go.

What bothers me more is the blind support you're receiving from people on here. Doesn't anyone else find this a bit suspect? Doesn't anyone agree that the evidence provided is nonexistent?

If this is losing, I feel pretty good. Hugs.

p.s. "YOUR" thread? Seriously? This thread was actually JP33s. Sorry ("right view", my brother).
